Global climate change and regional impacts on forests in Beskydy Mts
Janouš, Dalibor; Cudlín, Pavel; Čermák, P.; Marek, Michal V.
2009 - Czech
Beskydy Mts. is a region with a relatively high probability of expansion of serious Norway spruce stand fade-away types which are accompanied with gradations of insect pests and fungi pathogens as mortal factors. The study is focused on individual factors of change of forest trees growth conditions: increased CO2 concentration, drought, temperature, extreme weather, dimming effect, nitrogen deposition. Furthermore, it recapitulates briefly current state of forest stands in Beskydy Mts. and it defines procedure of estimation of spruce stand degradation risks. Beskydy jsou oblastí s relativně vysokou pravděpodobností rozvoje závažných typů chřadnutí smrkových porostů, provázených gradacemi hmyzích škůdců a houbových patogenů jako mortalitních faktorů. Příspěvek se věnuje jednotlivým faktorům změny růstových podmínek lesních dřevin: zvýšená koncentrace CO2, sucho, teplota, extrémní jevy počasí, dimming effect, depozice dusíku. Dále stručně rekapituluje současný stav lesních porostů v Beskydech a definuje postup odhadu rizika rozpadu smrkových porostů a stanovuje hodnoty faktoru ohrožení pro nejvýznamnější hospodářské soubory. The effect of elevated air CO2 concentration on water regime and transpiration of Norway spruce
Valouch, Ludvík; Pokorný, Radek; Tomášková, Ivana
2008 - Czech
Under the elevated CO2 air concentration, changes in physiological processes and morphology were evident in relatively short time. Direct measurement via heat pulse method proved reduction of specific sap flux throw the stem in the first year of cultivation in elevated CO2. SSF in both treatments was comparable in the next tree years. During the sixth year of fumigation, higher transpiration rate in trees growing under elevated CO2 was recorded. It was implication of larger bearing leaf area, larger conducting vessels area on the in crosscut stems section and larger root absorbed area. Continuously sap flow measuring of sun and shaded part of the crown was found that SSF of higher crown part was higher in both treatments. Average hydraulic conductance soil-leaf (GTsa) was 1,4 times higher in sunny part of the crown than estimated for the whole crown in ambient treatment A (ambient [CO2] concentration). Difference in hydraulic conductance between the upper and lower crown part of the E treatment (doubled [CO2] concentration of A treatment) was not so pronounced. Potentials of the VNIR airborne hyperspectral system AISA Eagle
Hanuš, Jan; Malenovský, Zbyněk; Homolová, Lucie; Kaplan, Věroslav; Cudlín, Pavel; Lukeš, Petr
2008 - English
Airborne hyperspectral remote sensing (imaging spectroscopy) sensors acquire images of several (from tens to hundreds) narrow spectral bands in visible, near and short infrared wavelengths. Use of hyperspectral remote sensing (RS) data in scientific and even commercial applications is quite broad, starting from agriculture, forestry, and natural vegetation (precision farming, assessment of general plant status, biomass estimation, species composition mapping), through geology (mapping of minerals, land degradation assessment), up to limnology (water quality evaluation), and other domains. Since 2004 the Institute of Systems Biology and Ecology (ISBE) (Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic) has been operating the VNIR airborne hyperspectral sensor AISA Eagle. The workgroup for remote sensing of vegetation at ISBE is currently capable to facilitate the complete flight/ground hyperspectral campaign including the standard image data pre-processing. Scaling utilization in landscape evaluation
Burešová, Renata
2007 - Czech
The aim of this work was to compare the effect of different scale mapping methods on the landscape evaluation (by Biotope Valuation Metod) and define the area for which it is necessary to use fine pattern mapping and when is possible to use rough pattern mapping. Two mapping methods, different in the pattern size (Natura 2000 with fine pattern size and Corine Land-Cover with rough pattern size) were choosen. Perception of the Jičín town by University students - inspiration for town planning
Lapka, Miloslav
2006 - Czech
There was a question for graduated students (from the other than local places - from Prague and Ceske Budejovice) how much they understand town Jičín in its historical baroque framework. The results show new symbols of modern age: fairytale heroes, stabile environmental symbols and relatively weak historical one. On the other hand baroque landscape lines can launch the firm outline for the town planning activities. Vysokoškolákům mimo dosah města Jičína (Praha a České Budějovice) byly kladeny otázky formou sociologického dotazníku nakolik jsou původní barokní symboly Jičína překryty symboly moderní doby (pohádkové postavy) a symboly environmentálními (blízké Prachovské skály). Největší povědomí mají současné symboly, následují symboly environmentální a pak historické. Ovšem barokní linie krajiny stále tvoří dobře vnímaný základ, který je možné využít při rozvoji města.
