Analysis of Baroque sculpture based on X-ray fluorescence imaging and X-ray\ncomputed tomography data fusion
Vavřík, Daniel; Kumpová, Ivana; Vopálenský, Michal; Lauterkranc, J.
2017 - English
It is advantageous to combine information about geometry and the inner structure of historical artifacts with information about the elemental composition of decorative layers, typically covering historical wooden sculptures. X-ray computed tomography describing artifact structure is quite common and easy. Standard X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis of decorative layers is typically done for several selected spots of the artifact’s surface utilizing single pad detector. XRF imaging fully describing the surface’s elemental composition is commonly done for flat objects, while time consuming XRF tomography is applied to relatively small objects. It will be shown in this work that an effective fusion combination of XRF imaging and X-ray tomography describing the whole object can be realized even when using a limited number of XRF images.

Valley evolution of the Biala Lądecka drainage network during late Cenozoic, Lower Silesia, Poland
Stemberk, Jakub; Štěpančíková, Petra; Tábořík, Petr; Coubal, Miroslav
2017 - English
Biala Lądecka (Biala Kłodzka) river is located in Lower Silesia (Poland) and its valley separates Góry Złote Mts.\n(Rychlebské hory Mts.) on the NE from Góry Bialskie Mts. on the SW. We conducted geomorphic investigations on the Biala\nLądecka river basin, in order to determine if Quarternary tectonic activity at the Bělský fault (or near Marginal Sudetic fault) is\ncontributing to the river’s asymmetry. Our research was focused on analysis of selected landforms, DEM parameters,\nmorphometric indexes and their spatial distribution which could potentially indicate recent tectonic activity in the area. At\nselected places geophysical measures were used to discover proper location and structure of Bělský fault or presence of\nsuggested morpholineaments. Preliminary results suggest a Quaternary tectonic activity for the Bělský fault. Moreover we tried\nto clarify nowadays stress regime in study area based striae measurement on fault planes and precise monitoring of selected\nfaults using TM-71 device.

Implicit constitutive solution scheme for Mohr-Coulomb plasticity
Sysala, Stanislav; Čermák, M.
2017 - English
This contribution summarizes an implicit constitutive solution\nscheme of the elastoplastic problem containing the Mohr-Coulomb yield cri-\nterion, a nonassociative \now rule, and a nonlinear isotropic hardening. The\npresented scheme builds upon the subdifferential formulation of the \now rule\nleading to several improvements. Mainly, it is possible to detect a position\nof the unknown stress tensor on the Mohr-Coulomb pyramid without blind\nguesswork. Further, a simplifed construction of the consistent tangent opera-\ntor is introduced. The presented results are important for an efficient solution\nof incremental boundary value elastoplastic problems.

Analysis of truncated data with application to the operational risk estimation
Volf, Petr
2017 - English
Analysis of operational risk often faces problems arising from the structure of available data, namely of left truncation and occurrence of heavy-tailed loss values. We deal with model given by lognormal dostribution contaminated by the Pareto one and to use of the Cramér-von Mises, Anderson-Darling, and Kolmogorov-Smirnov minimum distance estimators. Analysis is based on MC studies. The main objective is to propose a method of statistical analysis and modeling for the distribution of sum of\nlosses over a given period, particularly of its right quantiles.

Analytical solution for charged fluid pressure profiles - circulation in combined electromagnetic field
Kovář, J.; Slaný, P.; Stuchlík, Z.; Karas, Vladimír; Trova, A.
2017 - English
We introduce a general transformation leading to an integral form of pressure equations characterizing equilibrium configurations of charged perfect fluid circling in strong gravitational and combined electromagnetic fields. The transformation generalizes our recent analytical treatment applicable to electric or magnetic fields treated separately along with the gravitational one. As an example, we present a particular solution for a fluid circling close to a charged rotating black hole immersed in an asymptotically uniform magnetic field.
