Miniaturized Boron Doped Diamond Film Electrode for Neuroblastoma Biomarkers Determination

Cathodically pretreated miniaturized boron doped diamond film\nelectrode was successfully tested for the purposes of in-situ determination\nof neuroblastoma biomarkers after hollow-fibre based\nmicroextraction. Electrode was tested using K3[Fe(CN)6] and vanillylmandelic\nacid as model substances . Limits of detection and\ndetermination are 2.2 and 6.6 mu mol L-1, respectively. Kinetics of Keratin Acidic Hydrolysis in Batch Autoclave.

The contribution brings novel data on the non-traditional process presented during previous ICCT 2015 conference1. According to the patent application2 the hydrolysis of waste chicken feathers was performed in a reaction mixture containing water and a soluble acid catalyst with the pKa value lower than 4, in a stirred batch reactor for 0.5 to 10 hours, in the temperature range from 90 to 130°C and at the pertinent vapour pressure of reaction mixture. Kinetics of preparing a mixture of proteins and amino acids by hydrolysis of a waste material containing chicken feathers was investigated in this study.\n Keywords: batch autoclave; reaction micture; experiments Available in a digital repository NRGL

Nanoparticle Generation for Follow-Up Exposure Studies by Oxidation of Copper Acetylacetonate.

The exposure to nanoparticles (NPs) represents a severe problem to human health, because they are becoming more widely used and their number of applications continually increases. Particles containing copper are emitted from smelters, iron foundries, power stations and municipal incinerators (WHO, 1998), as well as from brake linings during braking, Kukutschova et al. (2011). Copper and copper oxide NPs are frequently used as catalysts, heat transfer fluids in machine tools (Kim et al., 2011), inks, anode material in lithium-ion batteries (Guo et al., 2002) and many others. Even though CuO NPs were found highly toxic, Karlsson et al. (2008) and it is likely that NPs enter human body via respiratory tract, the inhalation exposure experiments of CuO NPs with laboratory animals are still rather rare (Pettibone et al., 2008; Lebedova et al., 2016). The exposure chamber for long lasting inhalation experiments was constructed at the Institute of Analytical Chemistry of the CAS (Večeřa et al., 2011) and some methods of NPs generation for these experiments were already tested in our laboratory (Moravec et al., 2015; Moravec et al., 2016a). The generation of Cu/Cu2O NPs by thermal decomposition of copper acetylacetonate (CuAA) was reported by Moravec et al. (2016b) and here we present the results of long lasting generation of NPs by oxidation of CuAA. Cílem ichtyologického průzkumu jezera Most bylo zmapování stavu a vývoje rybí obsádky, přičemž důraz byl kladen zejména na odhad početnosti a biomasy jednotlivých druhů ryb, na odhad rizik dalšího vývoje rybí obsádky a doporučení dalšího obhospodařování jezera. Sumarizace dosažených výsledků a návrh doporučení pro další sledování jsou obsahem předkládané zprávy. Aim of the complex ichthyological survey of Lake Most was to map the current state and succession of lake’s fish stock with particular emphasis put on abundance and biomass estimates of all fish species, evaluation of possible risks to the further development of the fish stock and recommendations for the lake management. Summarization of achieved results and recommendations for further monitoring are included in the presented report.
