2022 - English This is the Book of Abstracts for the XXIV Czech-Polish Seminar (CPSEM-2022 conference) held in Harrachov (Czech Republic) on May 23 - 27, 2022. The special objective of the conference is expressed in the conference subtitle: Structural and Ferroelectric Phase Transitions. The continuous worldwide interest to this conference series is proving that it has a respected position within the series of International/European conferences covering all interdisciplinary field of the research related to structural and ferroelectric phase transitions. At the CPSEM-2022 conference there were about 100 participants from 10 countries delivered 8 tutorial lectures for early stage researchers, 8 invited lectures and selected 34 oral contributions. More than 55 posters were presented during two poster sessions. Cosmology on Small Scales 2022: Dark Energy and the Local Hubble Expansion Problem

2022 - English One hundred years ago, Russian mathematician and physicist Alexander A. Friedmann applied the system of Einstein equations to the three-dimensional sphere with a time varying radius. In this way, he obtained a nonlinear ordinary differential equation which is called the Friedmann equation after him and serves now as a cornerstone of the standard cosmological model. Unfortunately, it is well known that this model exhibits a number of paradoxes. Thus, the main goal of the CSS 2022 Conference Proceedings is to discuss whether and how the Friedmann equation can be applied at the various spatial scales, from our local cosmic neighborhood up to the whole Universe, and if the existence of dark matter and dark energy are merely artifacts of the excessive extrapolations. NIVB Meeting 2022

2022 - English The first annual meeting of the National Institute of Virology and Bacteriology (NIVB) in Kutná Hora on 30.11.–2.12. is an opportunity for participating teams to meet, discuss excellent science, establish collaborations, and introduce the project to the members of our newly established International Science Advisory Board. The primary objective of NIVB is to mediate the cooperation among the 28 participating research teams from 8 Czech research institutions: Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, Institute of Molecular Genetic, and Biological Centre of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Charles University in Prague, Masaryk University in Brno, the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague, and Palacký University in Olomouc. We are delighted that it was possible to arrange the meeting of all the participating research groups, which reflects the scientific breadth of NIVB. The research interests of the participating groups can be broadly assigned into the programs of (1) Pathogen-host interactions, (2) Immunity against viruses and bacteria, and (3) Treatments for viral and bacterial infections. We thank all participants for contributing 28 presentations and 65 posters to the meeting. This conference is a pioneering endeavor, the first meeting that will bridge the virology and bacteriology communities from the Czech Republic. While the research interests of all the participating groups are focused on virology and bacteriology, the contributing laboratories are very diverse in the research methodologies they employ. Therefore, the meeting has the potential to enable the establishment of new scientific collaborations among the participating teams, which is the main objective of NIVB.\nNIVB Meeting 2022 has the ambition to launch a new series of annual meetings on virology and bacteriology and aims at informing wider scientific community about new development, trends and issues in these scientific fields. 2022 - Czech Infrastruktury jsou jedním ze stěžejních témat současného umění, jaké místo mají v disciplíně dějin umění? Sborník ze VII. sjezdu historiků a historiček umění, který se konal v září 2021 v Ústí nad Labem, pojednává téma na půdorysu pěti kapitol, odkrývajících mechanismy sběratelství, vystavování a reprodukování umění, uměleckého vzdělávání a také konzervování a obnovy uměleckých památek. V centru pozornosti se ocitá dobově a místně podmíněný kontext, všechno co dílo obklopuje, co jej materiálně tvoří a co umožňuje nebo přímo podmiňuje jeho existenci, co jej uchovává v čase a co k němu přivádí pozornost. Infrastructures are one of the central themes of contemporary art, what place do they have in the discipline of art history? Proceedings of the VIIth Congress of Art Historians, held in September 2021 in Ústí nad Labem, discusses the topic in five chapters, revealing the mechanisms of collecting, exhibiting and reproducing art, art education, and the conservation of art monuments. The focus is on the temporally and locally conditioned context, everything that surrounds the work, what materially constitutes it and what enables or directly conditions its existence, what preserves it in time and what brings attention to it.
