2022 - English Structural health assessment of timber structures associates various procedures in order to evaluate the safety and serviceability of structures. Also, it helps to assure or extend the predicted service life of structures. Service life sustainability can be promoted by the incorporation of monitoring systems or by providing tools and methods that deliver accurate reports about the structural condition. Conservation and assessment of timber structures is based on a multidisciplinary approach. The conference topics cover the wide spectrum, from wood properties, through performance of joints and timber design, to modern monitoring and digital technologies. As the topics include both existing and historical timber structures, the need for reliable non destructive testing methods is part of the approach as well. 2022 - Czech Sborník z 20. mezinárodního zasedání k problematice sepulkrálních památek, které se konalo v Praze ve dnech 2. – 3. listopadu 2021. Tyto pravidelné konference, pořádané od roku 2000 Ústavem dějin umění Akademie věd ČR, jsou zaměřeny na sepulkrální památky jako hmotné artefakty sepulkrální kultury a jako umělecká díla v tradičním slova smyslu s věcným či metodologickým vztahem ke středoevropské problematice. Nevyhýbají se však ani tématům, která šířeji vysvětlují kontext, v němž tyto památky vznikaly a funkčně se uplatňovaly. Důraz je kladen na charakter mezioborových odborných setkání. Svým zaměřením a periodicitou jsou v celoevropském kontextu jedinečné. Publikačním fórem těchto zasedání je od roku 2005 řada Epigraphica & Sepulcralia. Sborník konference obsahuje celkem osmnáct příspěvků. Kromě českých a moravských témat má tradičně významný podíl problematika zahraniční, zde konkrétně polská a slovenská, zprostředkovaně pak i dalších regionů střední Evropy. Vysoce kladně lze hodnotit významný podíl příspěvků věnujících se reflexi sepulkrálních a epigrafických památek v písemných pramenech, které umožňují trochu jiný pohled na danou problematiku. The proceedings of the 20th international sessions on the issue of sepulchral monuments, which took place in Prague on 2–3 November 2021. These regular conferences, organized since 2000 by the Institute of Art History, Czech Academy of Sciences, are focused on sepulchral monuments as material artefacts of sepulchral culture and as works of art in the traditional sense of the word, with a factual or methodological relation to the Central European issues. However, they do not avoid themes, that more widely explain the context, in which these monuments were created and were functionally applied. The emphasis is placed on the nature of interdisciplinary expert meetings. Through their focus and periodicity, they are unique in a pan-European context. The series Epigraphica & Sepulcralia has been the publication forum of these sessions since 2005. The conference proceedings contain a total of eighteen papers. In addition to Czech and Moravian topics, traditionally, a significant share of the conference is devoted to foreign issues, specifically Polish and Slovak, and indirectly to other regions of Central Europe. The significant share of papers dealing with the reflection of sepulchral and epigraphic monuments in written sources, which allow a slightly different view of the issue, is highly positive. 2022 - Czech Sborník představuje souhrn abstraktů příspěvků na 21. ročníku konference Počítačová podpora v archeologii. Tématem konference byla Archeologie otevřených dat. Příspěvky se soustředily zejména na výzkumné a další využití dat, která jsou dávána otevřeně k dispozici (např. pocházejí z otevřených databází či jiných obdobných zdrojů). Cílem konference bylo diskutovat o možnostech opakovaného použití dat v archeologii v souladu s FAIR principy. Program byl dále doplněn o tematické workshopy k problematice opakovaného použití dat (data re-use). The proceedings present a summary of the abstracts of talks presented at the 21st annual Computer Applications in Archaeology conference. The theme of the conference was Archaeology of Open Data. Talks focused mainly on research and other use of data that are made openly available (e.g. they come from open databases or other similar sources). The goal of the conference was to discuss the possibilities of data reuse in archaeology in accordance with the FAIR principles.
