Use of subsidy funds for city development

This master's thesis addresses the utilization of subsidy funds for urban development. Within the analysis, the economic management of the town of Kuřim from 2018 to 2022 was examined. The theoretical framework of the study focuses on the examination of income sources, their distribution, and amounts, with a key emphasis on analyzing the impact of subsidy funds on the overall economic context of the town. The concluding section of the thesis evaluates a specific project: the establishment of a transportation terminal in the town of Kuřim, which was implemented using subsidy funds provided by the European Union. The Cost-Benefit Analysis method is employed for the financial and economic analysis of the project, that includes the valuation of socio-economic impacts and the calculation of key criteria such as NPV, IRR, IR, and return on investment. The results of the financial analysis clearly indicate that the project would be almost unfeasible without subsidy utilization over its lifespan. However, even after incorporating the subsidy, the project remains unprofitable. Therefore, an economic analysis, relevant for a project of public nature, was also conducted. Consideration of economic factors demonstrates the overall benefit and contribution of the project to the town of Kuřim in the context of its long-term sustainability and development. Tato diplomová práce se zabývá využitím dotačních prostředků pro rozvoj města. V rámci analýzy bylo zkoumáno hospodaření města Kuřim v letech 2018-2022. Teoretický rámec práce se zaměřuje na studium zdrojů příjmů, jejich distribuci a výše, přičemž klíčovým aspektem je analýza vlivu dotačních prostředků na celkový ekonomický kontext města. Závěrečná část práce se věnuje hodnocení konkrétního projektu, a to rekonstrukci a modernizaci dopravního terminálu ve městě Kuřim, který byl realizován s využitím dotačních prostředků poskytnutých z Evropské unie. Metodou CBA je provedena finanční a ekonomická analýza projektu, která zahrnuje ocenění socioekonomických dopadů a výpočet klíčových kriteriálních ukazatelů jako jsou NPV, IRR, IR a návratnost investice. Výsledky finanční analýzy jasně ukazují, že projekt by bez využití dotace byl téměř nerealizovatelný v rámci jeho životnosti. Avšak i po započítání dotace je projekt stále ztrátový. Proto byla provedena ekonomická analýza, která je pro projekt veřejného charakteru relevantní. Zohlednění ekonomických faktorů ukazuje na celkový prospěch a přínos projektu pro město Kuřim v kontextu jeho dlouhodobé udržitelnosti a rozvoje.

The diploma thesis is focused on the analysis of the impacts of the revitalization of Nová Zbrojovka brownfield from the investor's perspective. The theoretical part describes the concepts of investment, project evaluation including life cycle levels. This is followed by a description of economic efficiency and their indicators, namely net present value and internal rate of return. The next chapter deals with project financing, cash flows and risks. The theoretical section also includes an explanation of the concept of developer and brownfield projects. The practical part of the thesis describes Nová Zbrojovka brownfield development project, cash flows and economic efficiency of the project, as well as evaluation of investments beyond the economic interest of the investor. Diplomová práce je zaměřena na analýzu dopadů revitalizace brownfieldu Nová Zbrojovka z pohledu investora. V teoretické části jsou popsány pojmy investice, hodnocení projektu včetně úrovní životního cyklu. Následuje popis ekonomické efektivnosti a jejich ukazatelů, konkrétně čisté současné hodnoty a vnitřního výnosového procenta. Další kapitolou je financování projektu, peněžní toky a rizika. Dále také teoretická část obsahuje vysvětlení pojmu developer a developerský projekt a brownfield. Praktická část diplomové práce popisuje projekt výstavby brownfieldu Nová Zbrojovka, stanovuje peněžní toky a ekonomickou efektivnost projektu, a také hodnocení investic nad rámec ekonomického zájmu investora.

The master’s thesis focuses on the theoretical and practical aspects of marketing and marketing strategies of construction companies, with an emphasis on the process of winning contracts. The aim is to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of these strategies in the acquisition activities of a construction company. The theoretical part describes the marketing and strategies in the construction industry and the process of contract acquisition. The practical part analyzes the marketing tools of construction companies in Kazakhstan, regarding the economic situation, selection of respondents and financial analysis of the companies. The questionnaire survey is conducted based on five assumptions. The output of the thesis is the proposal of recommendations for the marketing strategy of a construction company with the aim of enhancing its competitiveness in bidding for contracts. Diplomová práce je zaměřená na teoretické a praktické aspekty marketingu a marketingových strategií stavebních podniků, s důrazem na proces získávání zakázek. Cílem je analyzovat a zhodnotit účinnost těchto strategií v akviziční činnosti stavebního podniku. Teoretická část popisuje marketing a strategie v oblasti stavebnictví a proces získávání zakázek. Praktická část analyzuje marketingové nástroje stavebních firem v Kazachstánu, s ohledem na ekonomickou situaci, výběr respondentů a finanční analýzu firem. Dotazníkové šetření je prováděno na základě pěti předpokladů. Výstupem práce je navržení doporučení pro marketingovou strategii stavební firmy za účelem zvýšení její konkurenceschopnosti při soutěžení o zakázky.

Programming of the ELSM method for the advanced stability analysis of geotechnical structures

This master's thesis addresses the issue of slope stability, which is a key task in the design of geotechnical structures. The study focuses on the Enhanced Limit Strength Method (ELSM), which leverages the advantages of the Finite Element Method (FEM) while allowing the control of the position and shape of the slip surface. ELSM is particularly advantageous for addressing the stability of embankments and aerial slopes of earth-filled water reservoirs. The objective of the thesis is to develop an algorithm for the ELSM method as an additional module for existing FEM solvers. The theoretical part of the thesis explains the principles of commonly used slope stability calculation methods, such as the Limit Equilibrium Method (LEM) and the Strength Reduction Method (SRM). Subsequently, the principles of the ELSM method (determining the factor of safety for the critical slip surface) are introduced, and the optimization algorithm Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is briefly described. In the practical section of the thesis, the programmed algorithm for slope stability calculation using the ELSM method with the utilization of the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) optimization module is explained. The correctness of the algorithm is verified, and a comparison with the SRM and LEM methods is conducted through three verification studies, including a simple homogeneous slope, a heterogeneous slope with a horizontal material interface, and a real case study assessing the external stability of the dam structure at the Vlachovice waterworks. Táto diplomová práca sa zaoberá problematikou stability svahu, ktorá predstavuje kľúčovú úlohu pri návrhu geotechnických konštrukcií. V práci sa skúma Enhanced Limit Strength Method (ELSM), ktorá využíva výhody metódy konečných prvkov (MKP) a zároveň umožňuje regulovať pozíciu a tvar šmykovej plochy. ELSM je preto výhodná pre riešenie stability návodných a vzdušných svahov sypaných zemných vodných nádrží. Cieľom práce je vytvoriť algoritmus pre metódu ELSM ako prídavný modul pre existujúce MKP riešiče. Teoretická časť práce sa venuje vysvetleniu princípov bežne používaných metód výpočtu stability svahu, ako sú metóda medznej rovnováhy (Limit Equilibrium Method - LEM) a metóda redukcie šmykovej pevnosti (Strenght Reduction Method - SRM). Následne je predstavený princíp metódy ELSM (stanovenia stupňa bezpečnosti pre kritickú šmykovú plochu) a stručne popísaný optimalizačný algoritmus rojom častíc (Particle Swarm Optimization - PSO). V praktickej časti práce je vysvetlený naprogramovaný algoritmus pre výpočet stability svahu pomocou metódy ELSM s využitím Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). Overenie správnosti algoritmu a porovnanie s metódami SRM a LEM prebehlo na troch overovacích štúdiách, vrátane jednoduchého homogénneho svahu, heterogénneho svahu s horizontálnym materiálovým rozhraním a reálnej úlohy posúdenia vonkajšej stability zemného telesa vodného diela Vlachovice.

This master thesis deals with analysis of a selected construction subjected to a seismic load. In the Dlubal RFEM programme, a basic model was created and analyzed with the spectral analysis using response spectra and with the time analysis using accelerograms from the database of the programme. The outcomes from these analyses were compared. Subsequently, the same calculations were performed on modified models and the results of the internal forces and deformations of the structure were compared with the outputs obtained on the original basic model. Tato diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou vybrané konstrukce zatížené seismicitou. V programu Dlubal RFEM byl vytvořen základní model, na němž byla provedena spektrální analýza s využitím spekter odezvy a časová analýza s využitím akcelerogramů z databáze programu. Výstupy získané z těchto analýz byly vzájemně porovnány. Následně byly tytéž výpočty provedeny na upravených modelech a výsledky vnitřních sil a deformací konstrukce byly srovnány s výstupy získanými na původním základním modelu.

This diploma thesis deals deals with the effectiveness of polyurethane and phenol-resorcinol-formaldehyde adhesives when applied in bonded joints of thermally treated sheet materials. The thermal resistance of commercially used adhesives was analysed as part of a research activity. Furthermore, the changes in the properties of wood materials after heat treatment were described. In the practical part, the effectiveness of the used adhesives on densified birch plywood was verified with respect to the shear strength of the resulting composite. Based on the results obtained, it was proceeded to verify the effectiveness of densification on spruce plywood. Tato diplomová práce se zabývá účinností polyuretanových a fenol-resorcín-formaldehydových lepidel při aplikaci v lepených spojích tepelně upravených plošných materiálů. V rámci rešeršní činnosti byla provedena analýza termické odolnosti komerčně používaných lepidel. Dále byly popsány změny vlastností dřevěných materiálů po tepelné úpravě. V praktické části bylo provedeno ověření účinnosti použitých lepidel na densifikovaných březových překližkách s ohledem na smykovou pevnost výsledného kompozitu. Na základě dosažených výsledků bylo přistoupeno k ověření účinnosti densifikace na smrkových překližkách.

A study of the possibilities of using recycled concrete in the UAE for the production of structural concrete

The thesis focuses on verifying the possibilities of utilizing recycled concrete aggregates originating from demolitions in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in structural concretes for ready-mix concrete technologies. The theoretical part summarizes knowledge in the field of recycled concrete aggregates, their preparation, and production. It outlines the standard requirements for the UAE, the Czech Republic and globally. Additionally, it describes the influences of recycled aggregates on fresh and hardened concrete. The goal of the experimental section was to verify the resulting properties of natural and recycled aggregates. Moreover, the thesis addresses the formulation design for reference and recycled concretes. Tests for both fresh and hardened concrete were conducted based on these formulations. This work compares the achieved results with those obtained in another study from the Czech Republic which is also focused on the use of recycled concrete. Furthermore, an economic analysis comparing the prices of reference and recycled concretes on 1 m3 is conducted within the experimental section. Diplomová práce je zaměřena na ověření možností využívání betonových recyklátů, které pochází z demolic ve Spojených arabských emirátech (SAE), do konstrukčních betonů pro technologie transportbetonu. V teoretické části jsou shrnuty poznatky z oblasti betonových recyklátů, jejich přípravy a výroby. Jsou zde uvedeny normové požadavky jak pro SAE, Českou republiku a svět. Dále byly popsány vlivy recyklovaného kameniva na čerstvý a ztvrdlý beton. Cílem experimentální části bylo ověření výsledných vlastností přírodních a recyklovaných kameniv. Dále se práce věnuje návrhu receptur pro referenční a recyklované betony. Na těchto recepturách byly provedeny zkoušky čerstvého a ztvrdlého betonu. V rámci této práce byly porovnány dosažené výsledky s výsledky dosaženými v jiné práci z ČR, která se taktéž věnovala použití recyklovaného betonu. V rámci experimentální části je provedena ekonomická rozvaha pro srovnání cen referenčních a recyklovaných betonů na 1 m3.

The subject of the thesis is the design of traffic zone 30 in the city of Tišnov. The main reason is the layout of the streets Bezručova, Na Hrádku, Svatopluka Čecha, Chodníček, Hřbitovní and the level crossing Svatopluka Čecha. The newly designed local roads are intended to ensure safe driving in this addressed location and to separate the traffic area from the associated one. In this work, 6 variants are proposed, of which only one variant is selected for further elaboration. Předmětem diplomové práce je navržení dopravní zóny 30 ve městě Tišnov. Hlavním důvodem je dispoziční upravení ulic Bezručova, Na Hrádku, Svatopluka Čecha, Chodníček, Hřbitovní a úrovňové křižovatky Svatopluka Čecha. Nově navržené místní komunikace mají zajistit bezpečnou jízdu v této řešené lokalitě a oddělení dopravního prostoru od přidruženého. V této práci je navrženo 6 variant, z toho je vybrána do větší rozpracovanosti pouze jedna varianta.

The master’s thesis analyses the factors influencing the continuity of supply chains in Czech and Moldovan construction companies, focusing on the supply chain of concrete mixes. The theoretical part explains key concepts in logistics, supply chains and marketing research. The practical part examines the relationships and processes between supplier and client of ready-mixed concrete in both countries. Based on the results, recommendations for improvements in production and distribution are proposed, and an evaluation criterion for suppliers is developed. Diplomová práce analyzuje faktory ovlivňující plynulost dodavatelských řetězců v českých a moldavských stavebních firmách, se zaměřením na dodavatelský řetězec betonových směsí. V teoretické části jsou vysvětleny klíčové pojmy v logistice, dodavatelských řetězcích a marketingovém výzkumu. Praktická část zkoumá vztahy a procesy mezi dodavatelem a objednavatelem betonových směsí v obou zemích. Na základě výsledků byla navržena doporučení pro zlepšení v oblasti výroby a distribuce, a vytvořeno hodnotící kritérium pro dodavatele.

Rehabilitation of sewer networks with the implementation of elements for rainwater management

This thesis focused on the possibilities of rehabilitation of the sewer network with the implementation of rainwater management elements (HDV), respectively blue-green infrastructure (MZI). In the first part of the thesis, the most used rehabilitation methods are reviewed and the rainwater management respectively blue-green infrastructure elements are divided and described. In the second practical part of the thesis, the acquired knowledge is applied to the study of the rehabilitation of the sewer network with the implementation of elements for rainwater management in the street Pod Soudním vrchem in Znojmo. A suitable rehabilitation technology (CIPP lining) was designed and economically evaluated for the site of interest and elements for rainwater management (two underground retention tanks and one underground infiltration retention tank) were designed and implemented, for which investment costs associated with the construction were determined. Tato diplomová práce se zaměřila na možnosti sanace stokové sítě s implementací prvků pro hospodaření s dešťovou vodou (HDV), respektive modro-zelené infrastruktury (MZI). V první části diplomové práce je provedena rešerše nejpoužívanějších sanačních metod a dále jsou zde rozděleny a popsány prvky pro hospodaření s dešťovou vodou, respektive prvky modro-zelené infrastruktury. Ve druhé praktické části diplomové práce jsou získané poznatky aplikovány na zpracování studie sanace stokové sítě s implementací prvků pro hospodaření s dešťovou vodou na ulici Pod Soudním vrchem ve městě Znojmo. Pro zájmovou lokalitu byla navržena a ekonomicky zhodnocena vhodná sanační technologie (CIPP vystýlka) a dále zde byly navrženy a implementovány prvky pro hospodaření s dešťovou vodou (dvě podzemní retenční nádrže a jedna podzemní vsakovací retenční nádrž), pro které se stanovily investiční náklady spojené s výstavbou.
