The topic of this diploma thesis is Mental Training and Its Application by Musicians-Performers. In the first part it is dealing with the history and the origin of formation of mental techniques and their application in the music world. It also mentions important persons working in this area. The second part describes all important aspects of mental training in the way, how each music performer should use and train them to enhance and stabilize the quality of their musical performance. Tématem této diplomové práce je Mentální trénink a jeho využití u hudebníků - interpretů. V první části se v historickém sledu dopodrobna zabývá původem vzniku mentálních technik a jejich následného využívání v hudebním světě. Zmiňuje také důležité osobnosti působící v této oblasti. V druhé části práce jsou rozebrány veškeré důležité aspekty mentálního tréninku, jak by je každý hudebník-interpret měl využívat, popřípadě trénovat a tím tak zkvalitnit a ustálit své interpretační výkony.

THE COMPARISON OF TWO WORLD-CLASSES THEATERS WITH FOCUS ON ITS OPERA STUDIOS

This work compares two of the biggest opera houses – La Scala and the Metropolitan opera New York and focuses on its Opera Studios. The main goal is to collect as many information as possible and to get to know which one of these institutions provides better possibilities for beggining singers. Besides finding new information I have used my connections with current participants in these institutions, so I could compare their experiences with mine. I have found out two ways of getting into opera studios in general and got to a conclusion which one is more efficient for me personally. Besides practical tips, this work includes historical facts as well as data on notable operatic performers. My thesis should be primarily useful for singers who aspire to have an international carreer. Tato práce srovnává dvě největší světové operní scény - miláskou La Scalu a newyorskou Metropolitní operu, a zaměřuje se především na jejich operní studia. Cílem je zjistit co nejvíce dostupných informací pro uchazeče o místo v těchto programech a zjistit, která instituce nabízí lepší možnosti. Při bližším zkoumání divadeních scén jsem kromě objevení spousty nových informací využila také známosti s aktuálními frekventanty a mohla jejich zkušenosti porovnat s mými. Rozkryla jsem dva různé způsoby, jak se do operního studia dostat a nakonec došla k závěru, které je pro mě osobně vhodnější. Kromě praktických informací práce obsahuje také historická fakta a poznatky o významných operních osobnostech. Práce by měla primárně sloužit jako zdroj informací pro operní pěvce, kteří usilují o světovou kariéru.

Master thesis is focused on one of the themes of musical theory, which are harmonic functions. First, it deals with the origin, general characteristics and marking of harmonic functions. In connection with the theme, mention is also made of harmonic dualism and monism. The main chapter deals first with the occurrence of the term of harmonic function in selected Czech and foreign dictionaries, it is also focused on concepts of publications and studies. Part of the thesis is a concept of its own, which is based on the analysis of period literature. Master thesis is intended to introduce the way of thinking and the concept of individual authors. Práce je zaměřena na jedno z témat hudební teorie, kterým jsou harmonické funkce. Nejprve pojednává o vzniku, obecné charakteristice a značení harmonických funkcí. V souvislosti s tématem je zařazena též zmínka o harmonickém dualismu a monismu. Stěžejní kapitola se nejprve věnuje výskytu termínu harmonické funkce ve vybraných českých a zahraničních slovnících, dále je zaměřena na koncepce publikací a studií. Součástí práce je pojetí vlastní, které vychází z analýzy dobové literatury. Diplomová práce má přiblížit způsob myšlení a pojetí jednotlivých autorů.

This diploma thesis deals with the profession of a ballet master. First chapters capture its genesis, development and changes in the context of European and Czech history. The aim of the other chapters is to describe its current form within theatre operation of the Czech ballet companies in 21st century and characterize the particular functions included in it: teacher, assistant, leader of rehearsals. The conclusion presents the thoughts and observations of the current ballet masters and shows the pros and cons, that this artistic post entails. The appendix contains brief portraits of six ballet masters, whose opinions complete the entire work. Diplomová práce se zabývá profesí baletního mistra. První kapitoly zachycují její genezi, vývoj a proměny v kontextu evropských i českých dějin. Cílem dalších kapitol je přiblížit její aktuální podobu v rámci divadelního provozu českých baletních souborů 21. století a samostatně charakterizovat jednotlivé funkce: pedagog, asistent, repetitor. Závěr předkládá myšlenky a postřehy současných baletních mistrů a ukazuje klady i zápory, které tento umělecký post obnáší. Příloha obsahuje stručné medailony šesti baletních mistrů, jejichž názory celou práci doplňují.

This thesis deals with the curent singing-technic observations myself and pedagogical proceeding most of my actual professors. It focused especially on the difficulty in singing technic and also on the analysis of anatomical-physiological functions, in detail. This work also charts actual progress and reflexion on that. Tato diplomová práce se zabývá dosavadním pozorováním pěvecké techniky nejen u sebe samé, ale i v pedagogické činnosti většiny svých dosavadních profesorů. Zaměřuje se především na některá úskalí v pěvecké technice i na podrobnější rozbor anatomicko-fyziologických funkcí. Práce taktéž mapuje i vlastní dosavadní vývoj
a reflexe na něho.

Cameraless photography of Běla Kolářová

The first part presents a brief summary of the historical genesis of cameraless photography in the context of the general history of photography. In line with G. Batchen's concept, the work emphasizes the autonomy of this technological and expressive process and qualitative comparability with the procedures and manifestations of classic camera photography. This "photographic history" culminates in the development of avant-garde photographic experiments, especially in the systematic development of Man Ray's "rayograms." Against the avant-garde concept (dadaism, Bauhaus, elements of graphic constructivism) is defined the concept of Běla Kolářová from the beginning of the sixties of the 20th century, which forms the very theme of the work. Specific procedures and concrete results of Běla Kolářová´s work ("artificial negatives", "X-rays of the circle", "light drawings") are observed in the context of the creative experiments of the Czech art scene of the time: visual poetry, J. Kolář's collages, Czech informel, neoconstructivism and geometric abstraction, „Confrontation“ and „Crossroad“ groups, etc. The originality of Kolářová's contribution is reflected through the analysis of the interpretation works of the Czech kunsthistory (J. Hlaváček, J. Valoch, K. Císař, J. Padrta and others). It is emphasized in what Kolářová's creation of photograms exceeds conventional classifications, and what specifically refers to non-derived creative resources and conceptualizations (M. Duchamp, R. Caillois, surrealism, W. Benjamin). From these comparative aspects, the conclusions are generalizing the contribution and importance of the cameraless photography of Běla Kolářová as a legitimate part of the history of Czech visual art of the second half of the 20th century. Úvodní část práce přináší stručné shrnutí historické geneze bezkamerové fotografie v kontextu obecných dějin fotografie. V souladu s koncepcí G. Batchena práce zdůrazňuje autonomii tohoto technologického a vyjadřovacího postupu a kvalitativní souměřitelnost s postupy a projevy klasické kamerové fotografie. Tato „historie fotogramu“ vrcholí v rozvoji avantgardních fotografických experimentací, zejména v systematickém rozpracování Man Rayových „rayogramů“. Vůči avantgardnímu konceptu (dadaismus, Bauhaus, prvky grafického konstruktivismu) se vymezuje pojetí Běly Kolářové z počátku 60. let 20. století, jež tvoří vlastní téma práce. Specifické postupy a konkrétní výsledky její tvorby („umělé negativy“, „rentgenogramy kruhu“, „kresby světlem“) jsou sledovány v kontextu tvůrčích experimentací české umělecké scény té doby: vizuální poezie, koláže J. Koláře, český informel, neokonstruktivismus a geometrická abstrakce, skupiny Konfrontace a Křižovatka. Originalita přínosu Běly Kolářové je reflektována skrze analýzu interpretačních prací české kunsthistorie (J. Hlaváček, J. Valoch, K. Císař, J. Padrta aj.). Práce zdůrazňuje, čím se její tvorba fotogramů konvenčním klasifikacím vymyká a v čem konkrétně se vztahuje k neodvozeným tvůrčím zdrojům a konceptualizacím (M. Duchamp, R. Caillois, surrealismus, W. Benjamin). Z těchto komparativních aspektů vyplývají závěry zobecňující přínos a význam bezkamerové fotografie Běly Kolářové jako legitimní části dějin českého výtvarného umění 2. poloviny 20. století.

This diploma thesis has two basic parts – theoretic and practical. The first part describes historic origin and evolution of form called character dance but also there are described even specifications of chosen folk dances of foreign nations. The second part of thesis tries to create basic and initial structure for dance class in elementary art school. It includes methodic description of singular dance elements and steps of national dances which is character dance composite – exercices at the barre and centre work. Diploma thesis also contains a suggestion for modification of school educational plan which describes a basic form of education and required class exams in subject called Character dance for elementary art school. Diplomová práce má dvě základní části – teoretickou a praktickou. První část mapuje historický vznik a vývojové formy charakterního tance, ale jsou zde popsány i vybrané lidové tance cizích národů. Druhá část se pokouší o vytvoření základní počáteční struktury vyučovací hodiny na ZUŠ. Součástí práce je tak i metodický popis jednotlivých prvků, z nichž je charakterní tanec jako scénická forma složen, a to ve cvičení u tyče a také na volnosti. Obsahuje rovněž návrh na úpravu školního vzdělávacího plánu a požadované ročníkové výstupy v předmětu Charakterní tanec na ZUŠ.

Voice characters of women´s figures in the opera Don Giovanni

Subject of this Master´s thesis is analysis and vocal characterization of female roles in the opera Don Giovanni, composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. I decided to divide this subject into several principal parts.
Initially I would like to overview the life and work of the author himself. The next part of this thesis examines the opera as whole; its history of origin, plot issues, characters, performance traditions and main differences between traditional interpretations. As next I would like to address female characters in Don Giovanni opera. Finally this paper presents a deep analysis of the three main female characters of the opera with emphasis on vocal characterization and interpretation of their famous representatives.
Finally this paper describes general classification of voice types, discuss the overall problematics of tone and voice production and also evaluate the mechanics and functionality of vocal chords from the physiological point of view. Tématem mojí absolventské práce jsou hlasové charaktery ženských postav v opeře Don Giovanni. Toto téma jsem se rozhodla rozdělit do několika základních částí.
Nejprve se podrobně zaměřuji na život Wolfganga Amadea Mozartova a jeho tvorbu. Další část mé diplomové práce patří samotné opeře Don Giovanni, ve které se věnuji historii jejího vzniku, ději, zápletce, jednotlivým postavám a rozdílnostem
v nastudování i pojetí ženských postav, které se v opeře objevují. Dále podrobně analyzuji tři základní typy ženských hlasových charakterů v této opeře a uvádím jejich slavné představitelky.
Závěrečná část pojednává o hlasivkách, typech hlasů a jejich rozdělení v obecné rovině.

This thesis combines academic research and the knowledge of bodily functions and mental techniques with musical practice. As an introduction, it deals with the question of talent in general, as well as various factors affecting a musician’s success, diligence and appropriate motivation among them.
The main body of the thesis focuses on the creative process and ways to induce creativity, concentrating on the effectiveness of practice and its specific characteristics: the most suitable time of the day, the optimal length of practice, goal planning and individual techniques. This section is accompanied by an overview of the most frequent mistakes made while memorising compositions and a description of the mental process of committing information to long-term memory, including the most effective learning techniques.
Finally, the thesis examines the issue of mental preparation for public performances and discusses long-term as well as short-term preparation techniques, considering the question of lifestyle and dietary recommendations before and after a concert. Cílem práce je propojení vědeckých výzkumů, znalostí tělesných procesů a mentálních technik s hudební praxí.
Úvod práce se zabývá talentem obecně a faktory, které ovlivňují úspěch hudebníků. Pozornost je věnována rovněž houževnatosti a vhodné motivaci.
Hlavní část práce se věnuje tvůrčímu procesu a způsobům, jak pozitivně ovlivnit kreativitu. Důraz je kladen na efektivitu cvičení a jeho specifika – nejvhodnější denní dobu, optimální délku cvičení, plánování cílů a techniky cvičení. Součástí je přehled nejčastějších chyb při učení se skladeb zpaměti a popis procesu ukládání do dlouhodobé paměti, včetně nejefektivnějších technik učení.
Závěr práce se zabývá psychickou přípravou na veřejná vystoupení a obsahuje techniky pro dlouhodobou i krátkodobou přípravu. Pozornost je věnována také životnímu stylu a dietním doporučením před koncertem i po něm.

Tato absolventská práce pojednává o Hudbě Hradní stráže pod Vojenskou kanceláří prezidenta republiky, která je od roku 1990 součástí Hradní stráže. Od historických souvislostí, přes bývalé i současné velení až k samotným členům orchestru, včetně uplatnění některých absolventů vojenské základní služby.
