Opinions of the Czech Public on Breeding and Dressage of Animals Living in Circuses

The final report is the output of research regarding „Opinions of the Czech Public on Breeding and Dressage of Animals Living in Circuses“. The report presents the results of representative research, the target group for which was the population of the Czech Republic ages 15 and older. Data was collected between 4th and 14th May 2019 through the personal questioning of respondents (a combination of CAPI and PAPI) based on a standardised questionnaire. A total of 1,026 respondents were questioned, and these individuals were selected using a quota method according to region, the size of the place of residence, age, and education level.\n\n Závěrečná zpráva je výstupem výzkumu „Názory české veřejnosti na chov a drezúru zvířat žijících v cirkusech“. Zpráva zpracovává výsledky reprezentativního výzkumu, jehož cílovou skupinou byla populace obyvatel ČR starších 15 let. Sběr dat proběhl v termínu od 4. do 14. května 2019 metodou osobního dotazování tazatele s respondentem – kombinace CAPI a PAPI – na základě standardizovaného dotazníku. Celkem bylo dotázáno 1 026 respondentů vybraných kvótní metodou podle kraje, velikosti místa bydliště, pohlaví, věku a vzdělání.

The final report is the output of research regarding „ Brand perception of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic“. This document is an outcome of the research project Analysis of Barriers to and Support Strategy for Gender Equality in Science and Research implemented in 2017 and 2018 by the Institute of Sociology of the Czech Academy of Sciences as part of the Operational Programme Employment (Reg. No. CZ.03.1.51/0.0/0.0/15_02 8/0003571). \nThe objective of the project was to develop recommendations for action to advance gender equality in research and development for the state administration and other key national players in research policy-making (the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, the Research, Development and Innovation Council, the Czech Science Foundation, the Technology Agency of the CR). Additional measures have been developed for higher education and research institutions and their umbrella organisations (Czech Rectors' Conference, the Czech Academy of Sciences). Moreover, the document aims to serve government bodies responsible for gender equality agendas (the Gender Equality Department of the Government of the CR). The measures have been proposed on the assumption that for their successful implementation it is necessary to ensure synergy between the state administration and research and higher education institutions. Due emphasis is also placed on the role and responsibility of senior researchers.\n Tento dokument je výsledkem projektu Analýza bariér a strategie podpory genderové rovnosti, který v letech 2017 a 2018 realizuje Sociologický ústav AV ČR v rámci Operačního programu Zaměstnanost (reg. č. CZ.03.1.51/0.0/0.0/15_028/0003571). Cílem projektu byla příprava návrhů opatření prosazování genderové rovnosti v oblasti výzkumu a vývoje pro státní orgány a další klíčové státní aktéry vědních politik s národní působností (MŠMT, Úřad vlády, RVVI, GA ČR, TA ČR aj.). Cílí též na management vysokoškolských a výzkumných organizací a jejich zastřešující organizace (Česká konference rektorů, Akademie věd České republiky). Dokument je také určen pro vládní orgány, které mají v gesci oblast rovnosti žen a mužů (Oddělení rovnosti žen a mužů vlády ČR). Návrhy vychází z toho, že pro úspěšnou realizaci předkládaných opatření je potřeba součinnost orgánů státní správy se samotnými výzkumnými a vysokoškolskými organizacemi, zároveň též zdůrazňuje roli a odpovědnost vedoucích pracovníků a pracovnic výzkumu a vývoje.\nDokument nejprve představuje základní statistické údaje o zastoupení žen a mužů v českém výzkumu jako podkladová empirická data o trendech vzdělávání a zaměstnanosti žen a mužů ve vědě. V další části dokument shrnuje rámec českých veřejných politik v oblasti rozvoje lidských zdrojů a genderové rovnosti. Následuje přehled hlavních zjištění z výzkumu. Na jejich základě jsou definovány strategické cíle a konkrétní opatření, která jsou členěna dle klíčových aktérů, jimž jsou tato doporučení směřována. V přílohách jsou představena hlavní zjištění z jednotlivých částí výzkumu.\n\n

The Position of Women in Czech Science. 2016 Monitoring Report

Even in 2016, the proportion of women among researchers did not increase, on the contrary, the trend of slight but steady decline continues. The proportion of women among researchers reached 26.6%. In addition to data on researchers by field and sector of activity, on students and academics at universities, AND in decision-making positions, the report contains data mapping the position of women among researchers in the EU. The comparison clearly shows that the CZE is among the worst in all the monitored criteria. Ani v roce 2016 zastoupení žen mezi výzkumníky nevzrostlo, naopak, trend mírného ale stálého poklesu pokračuje. Podíl žen mezi výzkumníky dosáhl hodnoty 26,6 %. Mimo dat o výzkumnících dle oborů a sektoru působení, o studujících a akademických pracovnících na VŠ či zastoupení v rozhodovacích pozicích, zpráva obsahuje také data mapující postavení žen mezi výzkumníky v jednotlivých evropských zemích. Ze srovnání jasný vyplývá, že ČR ve všech sledovaných kritériích patří mezi nejhorší.

Společná tisková zpráva Sociologického ústavu AV ČR, v.v.i., Otevřené společnosti a NESEHNUTÍ ze dne 5. února 2018.\nZnevýhodnění v odměňování mezi muži a ženami, nedostatečný postup žen na vyšší pozice či překážky při přijímacích pohovorech představují nejzásadnější problémy, které odhalil reprezentativní průzkum Sociologického ústavu AV ČR, v.v.i. Minimálně jednou za svůj život se s těmito překážkami setkalo téměř 60 % žen a 39 % mužů. Dotazy na soukromý a rodinný život jsou pro ženy stále běžnou součástí přijímacích pohovorů do zaměstnání. Nejčastěji se s nimi setkávají ženy, které již mají děti, a ženy ve věkové skupině 30–44 let. Celkem je ale potvrzuje 58 % žen a 24,6 % mužů.

The final report is the result of the analysis „Public opinions in localities selected for deep geological repository of radioactive waste“, which was implemented in the form of public opinion research in nine localities of the Czech Republic selected as a potencial suitable places for the construction of a deep geological repository. The research was realized in May and Junice 2018 and a total of 2813 respondents were interviewed. Závěrečná zpráva je výstupem z projektu „Názory veřejnosti v lokalitách vytipovaných pro zřízení hlubinného úložiště radioaktivních odpadů“, který byl realizován formou výzkumu veřejného mínění v devíti lokalitách ČR vytipovaných jako potenciální vhodná místa pro zřízení úložiště radioaktivních odpadů. Výzkum proběhl v květnu a červnu 2018 a bylo v něm dotázáno celkem 2813 respondentů.\n

How Egalitarian are we? Earnings, income and household conditions in Czechia in comparison with Europe

The study brings a comprehensive view of population’s earnings, household incomes, redistribution flows, household budgets and wealth, both in terms of development in the Czech Republic and compared to European countries. It also deals with perceived economic inequality and middle-class identity. It uses a wide range of statistical and sociological data, partly from European and world databases, and partly from own calculations based on individual data of comparative surveys. Data are presented mainly in charts showing the position of the Czech Republic on European ladder. The results question the general belief about extraordinary equality in our country and specific Czech egalitarianism. The Czech society is no longer equalized in earnings, or in the situation of households. It does not even appear to be exceptionally egalitarian in different attitudes. Studie přináší souhrnný pohled na výdělky osob, příjmy domácností, přerozdělovací toky, majetkové rozdíly a hospodaření rodin, a to jednak z hlediska vývoje v ČR a jednak ve srovnání s evropskými zeměmi. Zabývá se rovněž vnímáním ekonomické nerovnosti a středostavovskou identitou. K tomu využívá široké palety statistických a sociologických dat, zčásti pocházejících z evropských a světových databází a zčásti z vlastních výpočtů na základě individuálních dat komparativních výzkumů. Data jsou prezentována převážně v grafech ukazujících pozici ČR na evropských žebříčcích. Výsledky zpochybňují obecné názory o výjimečné rovnosti v naší zemi a specificky českém rovnostářství. Česká společnost už není „nejrovnější“ ani ve výdělcích, ani v situaci domácností. Nejeví se ani nějak výjimečně rovnostářskou v různých postojích.
