V mnoha procesních zařízeních je suspenze udržována na hranici stavu usazování pro dosažení vhodných podmínek pro přenos hmoty. Pro popis hydrodynamiky takto se pohybující částice v turbulentním proudu byl použit zjednodušený modelový systém fluidního lože ve vertikální trubce. Fluidisation, suspension mixing, crystallisation and other industrial process are those for which a relative motion between susnpended solid particles and fluid is very important parameter. Settling hindered by turbulent eddies was not yet theoretically described.

Non-Newtonian liquids : determination of a value of viscosity characterising the initial newtonian plateau

The present contribution indicates that precisely the same situation - as with the determination of the so-called yield stress of viscoplastic materials - concerns also the value of viscosity describing the initial Newtonian plateau. It is shown that the determination of this value from the experimental data is not unique, significantly subjects to the range of measured parameters, and the proper determination of the precise value is very questionable.

Krátkodobé turbulentní rozruchy při pulzačním proudění

Při pulzačním proudění v trubicích v blízkosti přechodové oblasti mezi laminárním a turbulentním režimem proudění vznikají v kapalině krátkodobé turbulentní rozruchy, které trvají jen po část periody. Jejich počátek, doba trvání, průběh intenzity a konec v rámci periody závisí na parametrech toku jako je střední Reynoldsovo číslo, Womersleyovo číslo a průtokový poměr. In the pulsatile flow in tubes near the laminar/turbulent transition zone, the short-time turbulent disturbances arise and fade away in every period. Moment of arise, endurance, course of intensity and moment of disappearing of those disturbances within a period are dependent on flow parameters like mean Reynolds number, Womersley number and flow rate ratio.

On non-monotonous behaviour of shear-viscosity function

The aim of this contribution is to propose a new phenomenological model enabling description of non-monotonicity of shear-viscosity function for rheologically complex fluids. The applicability of this model is discussed with the emphasis on the number of model parameters and experimentally examined.

Hydraulics of overflowed bridge

The paper deals with an open channel flow around model of a bridge when the water depth is higher than height of the bridge opening. Both the pressured flow through bridge opening and free surgace flow over the model were studied. For both cases discharge coefficients were determined and for overflowed model also the velocity profiles were measured to evaluate the ratio of discharges going below and over the bridge model.

Snížení přestupu tepla a tlakových ztrát přísadou micelárního aditiva při proudění vody v kruhově zakřivené trubce

Experimentálně byla sledována změna přestupu tepla při proudění vody a vody s různými koncentracemi micelárního aditiva v kruhově zakřivené trubce. Ze zjištěných průběhů přestupu tepla podél šroubovicově zakřivné trubky při proudění vody a vody spřísadou aditiva byla vyhodnocena míra snížení přestupu tepla způsobená aditivem. Současně byly měřeny změny tlakových ztrát, které byly porovnány se změnami přestupu tepla. The flow in a helical tube was studied experimentally and change of heat transfer and pressure drop caused by addition of 3 different amount of a surfactant was shown. The measurements were done at a constant heat flux at the wall q = 50 and 75 kW/m2; the Reynolds numbers were between 10600 and 71000 and temperatures from 15 to 55°C. The decrease of heat transfer along the coiled tube caused by presence of the surfactant and effect of drag reduction in heat transfer were confirmed.

Thinning of kaolin slurry

After mixing kaolin with water attractive and repulsive forces between kaolin particles initiate process of coagulation and peptisation, respectively. The coagulation process in the kaolin slurry gives rise to voluminous aggregates of kaolin particles, where a great deal of water is fixed.

Simulace hemodynamiky v elatickém modelu umělé cévní náhrady

V příspěvku je presentována simulace proudění krve elastickým modelem vrapované umělé cévní náhrady (výrobce VUP - Brno; typ Ra; vnitřní půměru 9 mm). Metodou LDA je proměřen a vyhodnocen průběh pulsačního proudového pole uvnitř modelu. Měření jsou provedena při třech RE číslech s newtonskou i nenewtonskou kapalinou simulující tokové vlastnosti krve. The paper presents simulation of blood flow in elastic model of crimpted vascular graft (produced by VÚP-Brno CZ; type Ra; internal diameter 9 mm). The LDA method has been used for the investigations of pulsatile flow inside the model. Measurements are realised using three Re numbers with Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluid, wich simulate rheological characteristics of blood.

The paper deals with introducing and application of equipment and technology being suitable for prompt and operative building of new and/or improving the contemporary levees and elimination of local impact of water erosion or scour during flood events. The proposed solution is based on utilisation of special large-voluminous bags, filled hydraulically by a mixture of water and environmentally acceptable loose material.
