Vortex dynamics of a suddenly arrested cylinder

Results from an experimental study of the flow generated by a cylinder immersed in fluid, suddenly arrested or impacting normally without rebound on a solid wall, are presented. The trajectory of both the wake vortices, as well as the secondary vortices induced as the original wake convects over the arrested cylinder were investigated. S pohybem částic v kapalném prostředí se můžeme setkat v řadě průmyslových aplikacích - v sedimentačních procesech, v hydraulické dopravě, v procesním inženýrství a v řadě dalších. Při výskytu částic v proudícím médiu mohou nastat případy, kdy částice je náhle uvedena z klidové polohy do pohybu, kdy se pohybuje různými rychlostmi či je náhle zastavena,[1-5]. Při náhlém zastavení však dochází také k setrvačnému pohybu úplavu za částicí a takto vznikající struktura může velmi výrazně ovlivnit následný pohyb částice. V tomto příspěvku je experimentálně studován vertikální pohyb válce dopadajícího kolmo na dno nádoby s následným pohybem úplavu za válcem. Vedle toho je zde také ukázáno chování úplavu při náhlém zastavení válce nade dnem nádoby.

Numerical simulation of flow field induced by a moving cylinder

The vortex dynamics of the flow around an accelerating and suddenly arrested translating circular cylinder was investigated by computational fluid dynamics simulations using large eddy simulation and dynamic mesh approach. The calculations were compared with en experimental results obtained in water tank. Pohyb těles v proudovém poli je základní úlohou mechaniky tekutin, od kterého jsou odvozovány další jevy zásadně ovlivňující přenos hybnosti, tepla a hmoty využívaných při návrzích technických řešení napříč všemi obory od chemického, automobilového až po letecký průmysl. Naše úloha je mírně odlišná od standardních postupů, kdy je stojící těleso obtékáno proudem tekutiny. Ukazuje se, že např. při pohybu suspendovaných částic pohybem částic generované proudové pole a tzv. přidaná hmota mohou mít velký vliv na celkové chování proudící hrubozrnné suspenze a zejména při interakci jednotlivých částic se stěnou. Vliv pohybu částic či těles na proudění v tekutině včetně jejich zrychlování, zpomalování, nebo případná rotace jsou dlouhodobě předmětem zájmu, a jsou podrobně zkoumány u základních feometrií, jako jsou kulová a válcová tělesa, nebo hranoly.

1. Small representative or experimental basins represents permanent source of information. Their importance is higher in the time of climatic changes and the extremalization of the hydrological cycle. The present contribution deals with results obtained during the long term experimental hydrological research in the small forested experimental catchment Liz in the Bohemian Forest (0,99 km2, mean altitude 941 m a.s.l.; mean annual air temperature 6,3oC, mean annual depths of precipitation 861 mm). Malá reprezentativní či experimentální povodí představují trvalý zdroj informací. V době probíhajících klimatických změn a extremalizace hydrologického cyklu malá, přístrojově dobře vybavená povodí nabývají stále většího významu, jak ukazuje např. v nedávné době formulovaná tzv. Braunschweigská deklarace.

Evaluation of water regime monitoring in Roklan site

Contribution focuses on soil water regime in the mountainous site Roklan, which is located in the first zone of the National Park Sumava. Spruce monoculture forest in the location was devastated by bark beetle and then left to natural regeneration. The soil hydrological and meteorological monitoring is performed since 2011. Presented paper reports on soil hydraulic properties of the soil from the site. Then, the TDR water contents data collected in the site are compared with the water content data obtained by calculation from the pressure head data using the known water retention curves. The data for two selected rain episodes are presented in detail and results are discussed. Příspěvek se zabývá sledováním režimu půdní vlhkosti v horské lokalitě Roklan, která se nachází v první zóně Národního parku Šumava. Smrková monokultura v této lokalitě byla v minulých letech napadena kůrovcem a poté ponechána přirozené regeneraci. Od listopadu 2011 až dosud zde probíhá měření hydropedologických a meteorologických veličin. V příspěvku jsou uvedeny základní hydropedologické charakteristiky půdy v lokalitě Roklan, porovnáno stanovení objemové vlhkosti půdy měřené TDR čidly a získané přepočtem z tlakových výšek měřenými tenzometry s využitím v laboratoři měřených retenčních křivek. Dále je provedeno grafické zpracování a diskuze dat objemové vlhkosti a tlakové výšky během dvou vybraných srážkových epizod.

The influence of extreme precipitation on washout of potassium and sodium ions from the Liz basin in the period of 2002-2009

Extreme rains strongly influence the intensity of leaching of sodium and potassium from the soil cover. The question therefore arises whether it is possible to find some connection between extreme rains and sodium and potassium leaching. During the period of 2002-2009, measurement of rainfall, runoff, and chemical data on catchment Liz (Czech Republic, Bohemian Forest, 828–1074 m a. s. l., mature spruce forest, Podzolic Eutric Cambisol) gave the following conclusions about the washout of potassium and sodium ion from the basin: (1) In monthly periods, extreme loss of both potassium and sodium ions correlated with high precipitation amounts. (2) In annual periods, only extreme loss of sodium ions correlated with high precipitation amounts. V posledních padesáti letech došlo na území ČR ke globálnímu nárůstu teplot ovzduší, a to asi o 0,16 až 0,33 °C za dekádu. Současně je pozorována extremalizace hydrologického cyklu, která se projevuje v teplém období roku výskytem krátkodobých srážek o vysokém úhrnu a výskytem dlouhých teplých a bezdeštných období, ve kterých významně klesá vodnost zejména malých toků. Všechny tyto jevy silně ovlivňují intenzitu vymývání sodíku a draslíku z půdy a podloží. Vzniká proto otázka, zda lze nalézt nějakou souvislost mezi oteplováním klimatu a ochuzováním povodí o kationy sodíku a draslíku (Vondrka et al., 2013).

On Parameterization of Long-wave Radiation in Small Mountain Basin in Sumava Mts

The incoming and outgoing longwave radiations are often estimated from empirical relationships with a number of calibration coefficients. When testing the parameterization of available components of longwave radiation in the frame of a small mountaineous catchment we were able to demonstrate the reliability and robustness of calculating the outgoing longwave radiation. The estimate of net longwave radiation is burdened by considerable uncertainty, which could not be reduced by calibration of the coefficients. Dlouhovlnné záření je významnou, zřídkakdy měřenou, částí radiační bilance zemského povrchu. Dopadající a vyzářené dlouhovlnné záření jsou často odhadovány z empirických vztahů s řadou kalibračních koeficientů. Při testování dostupných parametrizací složek dlouhovlnného záření v podmínkách malého horského povodí se podařilo prokázat spolehlivost a robustnost výpočtu vyzářeného dlouhovlnného záření. Naproti tomu odhad čistého dlouhovlnného záření je zatížen značnou nejistotou, kterou se nepodařilo zmenšit ani kalibrací příslušných koeficientů.

The variability of water regime in the annual cycle is influenced not only by the annual development of the vegetation cover, but also by its increases in the span of several decades. In the actual year it has been twelve years ago when the disastrous floods appeared in the Labe River, and more than fifteen years from destructive inundations in the Morava River basin, and so it is reasonable to remind those situations in the context with the recent flood. The modeling of rainfall-runoff process is the tool for the evaluation of the possible changes in the water regime in the mentioned landscape development. Proměnlivost vodního režimu povodí v ročním cyklu je ovlivňována nejen ročním vývojem vegetační pokrývky, ale i jejím přírůstkem v rozpětí až několika desetiletí. V tomto roce uplyne už dvanáct roků od katastrofální povodně v povodí Labe a více než patnáct let od ničivých záplav na Moravě a je namístě si připomínat tyto situace také v kontextu s loňskou povodní. Modelování srážko-odtokového procesu jsou prostředkem k hodnocením možných změn ve vodním režimu při uvedeném vývoji v krajinném prostředí.

In the Úpa basin with the closure profile in Horní Maršov is being build pilot system early warning system against extreme runoff manifesting as Flash floods (Tesař et al., 2011). V povodí Úpy s uzávěrovým profilem v Horním Maršově se buduje pilotní systém včasné výstrahy před extrémním odtokem projevujícím se tzv. bleskovými povodněmi (Tesař et al., 2011). Povodí je vystaveno vysokému riziku bleskových povodní způsobených přívalovými dešti o vysoké intenzitě v teplém období roku (Tesař et al., 2008), což se projevilo např. v červnu 2013. Extrémní odtok z povodí v teplé části roku může nastat nejen v důsledku mohutných srážek na povodí nebo jeho části, ale i v důsledku přesycení povodí nebo půdního pokryvu povodí vodou. Nebezpečí extrémního odtoku vzniká také v situaci, kdy je půdní povrch hydrofobní v důsledku vysokých teplot a nedostatečných srážek. Výskytu extrémních srážek zpravidla předchází dlouhé bezdeštné a horké období.

Současné měření rychlostního pole v úplavu metodami PIV a UVP

The paper presents the results of measurements of the velocity field for the prism placed perpendiculary to the direction of flow by metohds UVP and PIV. Light plane for PIV measurements was positioned in a plane of UVP probes and by using simple synchronization the measurements using both methods was captured simultaneously. V příspěvku jsou prezentovány výsledky měření rychlostního pole za hranolem umístěným kolmo na směr proudění metodami UVP a PIV. Světelná rovina pro PIV měření byla umístěna v rovině UVP sondy a pomocí jednoduché synchronizace byla současně snímána měření pomocí obou metod. PIV data byla následně transformovány do osy UVP sondy a výsledky byly porovnány.
