Soil cover of Přední Kobyla site (Bohemian Karst) genesis: role of clay minerals
Žigová, Anna; Šťastný, Martin
2000 - English
Soil cover of Přední Kobyla site (Bohemian Karst) is represented by relict soils. Přední Kobyla site is covered by illimerized brown earthifield terra fusca with slight sings of pseudogleization. Fractions  0.01 mm and  0.001 mm from the soil profile are charakterized mainly by kaolinite, illite and quartz. Stage and distribution of plagioclase and feldspar in soil reflect the strong weathering process. In association with clay minerals kaolinite is dominant. Keywords: micromorphology; terra fusca; clay minerals Available at various institutes of the ASCR

Isotopic composition of carbon and oxygen in platform/reef carbonates of the Moravian Karst: The vertical section shows characteristic patterns related ro sedimentary sequences
Hladil, Jindřich; Hladíková, J.
2000 - English
A sequence-related C and O isotope patterns were defined for Devonian platform limestones. In small cycles, the delta 13C and delta 18O values evolve divergently, i.e. from the base to end, the delta 13C values are gradually shifted toward highly positive range, whereas the delta 18O values are gradually shifted to low negative values. A rapid convergence of the delta 13C and delta 18O values terminates the cycle. Sedimentological and diagenetical causes of this and other patterns have been discussed. Mixed-layer crystal structures of the hydrobiotite type in tuffs of the Doupovské hory Mts. region
Melka, Karel; Adamová, M.; Haladová, I.
2000 - English
Mineralogical investigation of mica flakes occuring in tuffs of the Doupovské hory Mts. Was carried out as part of a regional study on volcanistic rocks. The volcanic area of the Doupovské hory Mts. Belongs to the extensive Ohře Rift originated in Early Cenozoic time. The phlogopite-bearing tuff, green-grey in colour, was collected from an outcrop at Oleška near Doupov. Based on geochemical criteria, the volcanistic rock studied contains some tephra clasts derived from alkali basalt-basanite rocks. Keywords: phlogopite-bearing tuff; Oleška near Doupov; regular mixed layer structure; hory; krystalové struktury Available at various institutes of the ASCR
