Optimální řízení lineárních dynamických systémů s kvadratickým kritériem

V článku vyšetřujeme lineární dynamické systémy s kvadratickým kritériem. Dokazujeme, že hodnota minima kriteriálního funkcionálu závisí jen na hodnotě optimálního řízení v počátečním bodě a že na hodnotách optimálního řízení v dalších bodech nezávisí. We study linear dynamical systems with a quadratic criterion. We prove that the minimum of a criterion functional depends ounly on the initial value of the optimal control.

Comparison of some FEM approximations of boundary layers

The numerical solution of convection-diffusion problems with a dominant influence of convection plays important role in many scientific and engineering applications, such as viscous flow, fluid-structure interaction, transport models, and others. These problems typically exhibit, steep gradients, e.g. in the vicinity of solid walls, which are called boundary layers. Usually, piecewise-linear finite element methods combined with appropriate stabilization techniques are used to compute the solution. In this study we investigate the potential of the hp-FEM to facilitate the numerical treatment of this class of problems. Numerická řešení úloh konvekce-difuze s převládajícím vlivem konvekce hrají důležitou roli v mnoha vědeckých a technických aplikacích, jako jsou např. viskózní proudění, interakce tekutiny a tuhé struktury, transportní modely apod. V této práci studujeme schopnosti hp-metody konečných prvků při numerickém řešení této třídy úloh.

Some aspects of communication in the teaching of mathematics - the semiotic viewpoint

The paper deals with problems in communication between the teacher and the pupil which can be investigated by way of semiotic analysis. Some causes of these problems are described, for example different mental representations or communication contexts, nonaccepting of conventional writing forms and another. Článek se zabývá problémy mezi učitelem a žákem, které mohou být zkoumány prostřednictvím sémiotické analýzy. Jsou popsány některé příčiny těchto problémů, například rozdílné mentální reprezentace nebo komunikační kontexty, nepřijetí konvenčních forem zápisu a jiné.

Ten Theorems on the Astronomical Clock of Prague

We present ten geometrical and algebraical theorems that have a close connection with the astronomical clock (horologe) of Prague. In particular, we found that there is a remarkable relationship between the triangular numbers and the bellworks of the astronomical clock. V článku předkládáme deset geometrických a algebraických vět, které mají úzký vztah ke konstrukci pražského orloje. Například ukážeme, jak trojúhelníková čísla souvisí s bicím strojem orloje.

A frame with uncertain material data is considered. The Young modulus is represented through a random field whose characteristics are not known. The frame response to a given lood is to be assessed on the basis of a limited number of measurements of local and effective Young modulus values. The contribution presents an approach based on probability, fuzzy set, and the worst scenario tools. Uvažuje se rám s neurčitě určeným Youngovým modulem. Ten je reprezentován náhodnou funkcí, jejíž charakteristiky nejsou známé. Má se předpovědět, jak rám zareaguje na zatížení, k dispozici je však jen omezený počet měření lokálních a efektivních hodnot Youngova modulu. Problém je řešen postupem založeným na nástrojích teorie pravděpodobnosti, fuzzy množin a metody nejhoršího scénáře.

The proceedings contain five invited lectures presented at the Spring School organized by the Institute of Mathematics AS CR in collaboration with the Czech University of Agriculture at Prague. The series of the spring schools has been organized in four years period since 1978 with the aim to bring together a broad audience including experienced mathematicians as well as students and to offer them extensive surveys of recent developments in the named fields delivered by distinguished specialists. All published papers were subject to the standard referee procedure. Sborník obsahuje pět zvaných přednášek prezentovaných na jarní škole organizované Matematickým ústavem AV ČR a Českou zemědělskou univerzitou v Praze. Série jarních škol je pořádána ve čtyřletém intervalu od r. 1978 s cílem shromáždit široké spektrum zájemců zahrnující jak zkušené specialisty, tak studenty a nabídnout jim rozsáhlejší přehledy o nejnovějším vývoji v oblastech vyjmenovaných v názvu v podání vybraných specialistů. Všechny publikované články prošly standardním recenzním řízením.

Assessment of knowledge and conceptions through problem posing: The case of fractions

Fraction is not a simple construct. In this contribution we try to show how we aim in our ongoing investigation at finding out what meanings/subconstructs (part-whole, measure, operator, quotient, ratio) are attributed to fractions by pupils, future teachers and in-service teachers. The starting point is problems posed by respondents. Findings are presented and some suggestions for further research outlined. V příspěvku je ukázáno, jak se snažíme v probíhajícím výzkumu zjistit, které subkonstrukty a interpretace (celek-čast, míra, operátor, podíl, poměr)přisuzují zlomkům žáci, studenti učitelství, učitelé. Východiskem jsou úlohy, které vytvořili respondenti. Jsou prezentována dosavadní zjištění a naznačeny směry dalšího výzkumu.
