Verification of applicability of PDFA in the 1310nm range

We present results of experiments aimed at increasing the reach of 1GE and 10GE transmission in the 1310nm wavelenght range by application of Praseof dimium doped fluoride fibre amplifiers. Jsou prezentovány výsledky experimentů prováděných s cílem zvětšit dosah přenosu 1GE a 10GE signálů v pásmu1310nm s použitím optických zesilovačů na bázi praseodymem dopovaných fluoritových vláken.

The single crystals of TGS doped with Pt-ions and with L-alanine were grown as in ferroelectric phase as the full-shaped crystals. The growth rate along the axis c of the doped crystals is much higher than in an undoped one. Morphology, domain structure and hysteresis loops were investgated. The effect of the dopant on the growth velocity is explained on the basis of catalytic action of platinum complexes. The pyroelectric detectors were prepared from these materials and their parameters are presented. Ve výzkumné zprávě je popsána technologie přípravy jednodoménových směsných monokrystalů síranu triglycinia a L-alaninu, legovaných komplexotvornými ionty platiny. Plnoploché monokrystaly byly pěstovány z nízkoteplotního roztoku metodou řízeného snižování teploty. Získané materiály byly testovány z hlediska morfologie, doménové struktury a základních ferroelektrických vlastností. Ze zhotovených monokrystalických výbrusů, orientovaných kolmo k ferroelektrické ose byly ve spolupráci s a.s. TESLA BLATNÁ připraveny čtvercové detektory záření a testovány jejich fyzikální a provozní vlastnosti. Zpráva dále obsahuje rozbor možností aplikace připravených detektorů v systémech pro detekci plynů, které mohou nalézt uplatnění v chemii, ekologii a v bezpečnostních vojenských aplikacích.

Tuned semiconductor laser for the diagnostic of the channel waveguides

In contribution is described new measuring set up with tuned semiconductor laser and there are given first results of spectral losses and group refractive index in various channel waveguides by using a resonator method. The waveguides were prepared in special glasses by ion exchanges method and in LiNbO.sub.3./sub. crystal by proton exchange and also by titan difusion. Experimental results have demonstrated accuracy and rate of this arangement. In conclusion we have shown the possibility of the next research. V příspěvku je popsáno uspořádání pro nově budované měřící pracoviště s laditelným polovodičovým laserem a jsou prezentovány první výsledky spektrálního měření útlumu a grupového indexu lomu rezonátorovou metodou v kanálkových vlnovodech. Kanálkové vlnovody byly připraveny metodou iontové výměny ve speciálních sklech, protonovou výměnou v monokrystalu LiNbO.sub.3./sub. i difúzí titanu do LiNbO.sub.3./sub.. Jsou diskutovány výhody i úskalí použité metody a je naznačen směr dalšího vývoje měřící metodiky na pracovišti.

Optimization of NRZ data transmission at 10Gbit/s over G.652 fibre without in-line amplification

The best scheme of chromatic dispersion compensation, input powers to standard and dispersion compensating fibre have been analysed numerical with the aim to find limits of NRZ data transmission over G.652 fibre. Theoretical results have partly been verified experimentally. Pomocí numerické analýzy optického přenosového systému byl analyzován vliv způsobu kompenzace chromatické disperze, vstupních výkonů do vláken a typu použitých vláknových zesilovačů na přenos dat s rychlostí 10 Gb/s standardním jednovidovým vláknem. Teoretické výsledky byly částečně ověřeny experimentálně.

Broadband access networks

Currently, transmission capacity of long-haul optical networks is of the order of Tb/s. In many cases, however, these networks are not fully utilised. The main reason is insufficient capacity of access networks. In this paper an attemp is made to analyse the situation in the access networks from the technology, economy and legislation point of view and the present role of optical as well as competitive technologies and their prospective application in the access networks is discussed. V současné době přenosová kapacita dálkových optických sítí dosahuje řádu Tb/s. V řadě případů tyto sítě však nejsou plně využity. Hlavním důvodem je nedostatečná kapacita místních sítí. V tomto příspěvku je učiněn pokus analyzovat situaci v místních sítích z pohledu technického, ekonomického ale i legislativního a bude popsána v širších souvislostech aktuální role optických technologií i jejich perspektivní uplatnění v místních sítích. Pozornost je věnována i konkurenčním řešením místních sítí.

Research report deals with measurement of chromatic dispersion of singlemode optical fibres using interferometric technique at IREE AS CR in Prague. The document describes in details all components of measurement setup, initial setting up and measurement procedure, using of assembled control programs and the measurement data processing too. Several tips and practical recommendations complete the report based on many performed experiments. Výzkumná zpráva se zabývá určováním chromatické disperze jednovidových optických vláken interferometrickou metodou na pracovišti ÚRE AV ČR v Praze. Dokument prodrobně popisuje jednotlivé prvky měřící aparatury, postup jejich nastavování, metodiku měření, používání sestavených řídícícch programů i způsob zpracování získaných dat. Zpráva je doplněna řadou detailních návodů a praktických rad, získaných během mnoha provedených experimentů.
