Sorbents of Toxic Metals and Radionuclides Based on Immobilized Humic Acid and Chitosan

Sorption of Cs, Co and Eu on coal (oxihumolite and its parent lignite artificially oxidized to increase degree of oxygen functionalities) in mixture with chitosan was studied using radiotracer method. Distribution coefficients (Kd) increasing in the order Cs < Co < Eu reflected increasing charge of a metal cation and its increasing ability of complexation with coal humic substances(HS). In acidic media, Kds increased with pH due to dissociation of the HS binding sites. In neutral media, Kds of Eu (for oxihumolite also Co) decreased with pH due to formation of soluble HS complexes. An improved sorption efficiency of the coal sorbents at neutral pH was obtained in mixture with chitosan, namely for oxihumolite at sorption of Eu and Co. Addition of chitosan prevents deterioration of the sorption ability probably via removing the HS complexes from solution by formation of an insoluble complex with chitosan. Sorpce Cs, Co a Eu na uhlí (oxihumolitu a jeho mateřském lignitu s obsahem kyslíkatých skupin uměle zvýšeným oxidací) byla studována radiostopovací metodou. Distribuční koeficienty (Kd) rostly v pořadí Cs < Co < Eu v souladu s rostoucím nábojem kationtu kovu a jeho rostoucí schopnosti komplexace s uhelnými huminovými látkami (HS). V kyselé oblasti Kd rostly s pH díky disociaci vazebných míst HS. V neutrální oblasti Kd Eu (u oxihumolitu i Co) klesaly s pH vzhledem ke tvorbě rospustných komplexů s HS. V neutrální oblasti se sorpční účinnost uhelných sorbentů zvýšila ve směsi s chitosanem, zejména u oxihumolitu při sorpci Eu a Co. Přídavek chitosanu zabraňuje snížení sorpční schopnosti zřejmě odstraněním komplexů s HS z roztoku při tvorbě nerozpustného komplexu s chitosanem. The magnetron sputtering was used to fabricate RE doped GaN layers fabricated by magnetron sputtering on various substrate using a gaseous mixture of nitrogen and argon as precursors. The doping of the GaN films with RE occurred simultaneously with the sputtering process when placing the metal RE pellets or RE powder onto the Ga2O3 target. The amount of the incorporated erbium increased with increasing weight of the RE pellets or RE powder. We observed photoluminescence emission at 1 550 nm due to the 4I13/2 → 4I15/2 transition under excitation at 488 nm and 980 nm. Magnetronové naprašování bylo použito k přípravě galium nitridových vrstev dopovaných vzácnými zeminami na různé podložky s použitím plynné směsi dusíku s argonem. Dopování bylo aplikováno současně s přípravou umístěním kovových nebo práškových tablet vzácných zemin. Dopované množství rostlo s rostoucím objemem tablet. Byla pozorována fotoluminiscenční emise při 155 nm přechodu 4I13/2 → 4I15/2 při excitaci vlnovými délkami 488 a 980 nm.
