Post-war restitution in Czechoslovakia and related problems

To face up to the war time period was very difficult in the post-war Czechoslovakia and determined by the war experience in both parts of the republic (Czech countries and Slovakia) which in fact affected the state approach to the restitution – first starting with the unique willingness, later changed according to the ideological and political limits. The conference paper is focused on several particular cases with the emphases on the activity of the National Administration of Property Assets and on the different approach to the restitution (emigrants, Jews with German nationality and so-called repatriates). V poválečném Československu byl přístup k vyrovnání se s obdobím války velmi složitý, determinovaný válečnou zkušeností obou částí republiky (české země a Slovensko), což také výrazně ovlivnilo vztah státu k restitucím. Jeho počáteční jednoznačná vstřícnost byla postupem doby stále více limitována ideologicky a politicky. Příspěvek se, na příkladu některých konkrétních případů, zaměřuje na činnost Národní správy majetkových podstat a na různorodý přístup k restitucím (k emigrantům, židům německé národnosti a tzv. navrátilcům).

V poválečném Československu byl přístup k vyrovnání se s obdobím války velmi složitý, determinovaný válečnou zkušeností obou částí republiky (české země a Slovensko), což také výrazně ovlivnilo vztah státu k restitucím. Jeho počáteční jednoznačná vstřícnost byla postupem doby stále více limitována ideologicky a politicky. Příspěvek se , na příkladu některých konkrétních případů, zaměřuje na činnost Národní správy majetkových podstat a na různorodý přístup k restitucím (k emigrantům, židům německé národnosti a tzv. navrátilcům). The abstract discusses strategic signification of the region from the view of military actions during several centuries. More in detail are decribed campaignes in 18th century, specification continues to 20th century. Special attention is concentrated to connection with progress and changes of communication lines. Příspěvek rozebírá strategický význam daného regionu z pohledu vojenských akcí v průběhu staletí. Podrobněji jsou popsána především tažení v 18. století, výčet však pokračuje až do 20. století. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována souvislosti rozvoje a změn komunikační sítě.

In the text, the authors study the activities of Czechoslovakian radio and television in the years 1968-1969. They describe how the media supported the politics of the Czechoslovakian Communist Party led by Alexander Dubček during the Prague spring. The authors analyse what form normalization took in both media. Autoři se ve svém textu věnují působení Československého rozhlasu a Československé televize v letech 1968-1969. Dokládají, jakým způsobem tato média v době Pražského jara podporovala politiku KSČ v čele s Alexandrem Dubčekem. Charakterizují, jakým způsobem začínala v obou médiích normalizace.

Discovery of Natural Radioactivity and New Development of the Town of Joachimsthal , Bohemia in the first half of the 20th Century

Early research into natural radioactivity, closely connected with the uranium minerals, stimulated new development of the old mining town of Joachimsthal in Bohemia in the first half of the 20th century. Radioactive waste material from the uranium dye production in Joachimsthal served as material for the first radium preparations processed by Pierre and Marie Curie. The high concentration of radon in watter of Joachimsthal mines was measured by Austrian physicists Heinrich Mache and Stephan Meyer in 1904. In 1906, the first private radon spa was organized in Joachimsthal by medical doctor Leopold Gottlieb. Objev a rané výzkumy přírodní radioaktivity, úzce vázané na uranové minerály, přinesly důležité impulsy pro rozvoj podnikání v Jáchymově v Čechách, kde byla od poloviny 19. století těžena a zpracovávána smolincová uranová ruda. Odpadní louhy z jáchymovské výroby uranových barev, zahájené již v polovině 19. století, se staly výchozí surovinou pro přípravu prvých radiových preparátů manželi Pierrem a Marií Curieovými. Jáchymovské důlní vody, jejichž vysoký obsah radonu zjistili v r. 1904 rakouští fyzikové Heinrich Mache a Stephan Meyer, se staly v r. 1906 základem k vybudování prvých soukromých radonových lázní v Jáchymově.

In their contribution, the authors look at the theoretical limitation of notions of ideology and forms of ideological activities of the media in totalitarian systems. The second part of their text focuses its attention on how the events of 1968-1969 are portrayed in Czechoslovak television serials during normalization. They analyse the serials The youngest of the Hamr family, Major Zeman´s cases and Northern county. Autoři se ve svém příspěvku věnují teoretickému vymezení pojmu ideologie a formám ideologického působení médií v totalitních systémech. V druhé části svého textu zaměřují pozornost na otázku, jak se události let 1968-1969 objevují v normalizačních seriálech Československé televize. Analyzují seriály Nejmladší z rodu Hamrů, Třicet případů majora Zemana a Okres na severu.
