Variations with periods near 1.3 year in solar and geomagnetic activity

The period about 1.3 years, found some time ago in solar wind velocity and in some biological data, is in geomagnetic aktivity prezent only in a short interval after 1990 a in leader extent around 1942. Other periods in the vicinity appear only sporadically and are much weaker. A connection with the solar cycle (even – odd) was not found. In solar acitvity these periods do not appear at all. Perioda kolem 1,3 roku, objevená před časem v rychlosti slunečního větru a v některých biologických jevech, je v geomagnetické aktivitě přítomna pouze v krátkém období po roce 1990 a v menší míře kolem r. 1942. Jiné blízké periody se vyskytují sporadicky a jsou mnohem slabší. Souvislost se slunečním cyklem (sudý – lichý) nebyla nalezena. Ve sluneční aktivitě se žádná z nich nevyskytuje vůbec.

Weather and tick borne viral encephalitis in the Czech and Slovak Republic

Cross-correlation of the annual incidence of tick borne encephalitis (TBE) in the Czech Republic (1965-2003) and Slovak Republic (1980-2004) with some external factors has been evaluated. The increase of the TBE is observed 1-3 years after the year with higher average air temperature. With the global warming the increase of the TBE is observed and they spread more to the North. Byla zkoumána kroskorelace ročního výskytu klíšťové encefalitidy (KE) v České republice (1965-2003) a Slovenské republice (1980-2004) s některými vnějšími faktory. Vzrůst KE je pozorován 1-3 roky po roce s vyšší průměrnou teplotou vzduchu. Vlivem globálního oteplení případů KE přibývá a šíří se dále na sever.

Seismic records are contamined by noise. In classical approach elastic waves generated by an earthquake or a quary blast are considered as a deterministic signal and seismic noise as a random signal. Commonly noise is removed or at least reduced by filtering. In recent years also an opposite approach appeared. Propagation of noise followed the same principles as for the deterministic signals - it is medium dependent. Klasická interpretace seismických záznamů je ztěžována přítomností šumu. V tomto případě lze na seismické vlny od konkrétního zdroje nahlížet jako na deterministický signál a na seismický šum jako na náhodný signál. Šum jako parazitní součást měření je odstraňován filtrací. V poslední době se ale objevily možnosti opačného přístupu Šíření seismického šumu podléhá obdobným zákonitostem jako šíření deterministických signálů, je závislé na vlastnostech prostředí.

Solar/geomagnetic aktivity, temperature of the winter polar lower stratosphere, the QBO phase and the stratospheric polar vortex

Labitzke (1987) has found a strong correlation between lower stratosphere temperature and solar cycle for data divided according to the QBO phase. This correlation explained why low solar activity combined with QBO-east phase or high solar activity and QBO-west phase was often followed by stratospheric warming and disturbed polar vortex. On th other hand, Arnold and Robinson (2001) have shown that high geomagnetic activity gives rise to cooling of lower stratosphere and leads to the strenghtening of polar vortex. Teplota polární dolní stratosféry ovlivňuje charakter počasí nad Atlantikem a Evropou. Podle Labitzke (1987) se mělo zato, že hodnota této teploty závisí pouze na sluneční aktivitě a fázi QBO. Na skutečnost, že v tomto procesu hraje důležitou roli také aktivita geomagnetická, upozornili Arnold a Robinson (2001). Předložená práce se posuzuje míru vlivu obou aktivit na teplotu polární dolní stratosféry.

Monthly numbers of cerebral infarctions dutiny 16 years wereas correlated with monthly values of solar and geomagnetic activity. There is a significant negative correlation between solar/geomagnetic aktivity and the incidence of cerebrál infarctions with a time shift of one year. Měsíční počty mozkových mrtvic za 16 let byly korelovány s měsíčními hodnotami sluneční geomagnetické aktivity. Existuje významná záporná korelace mezi sluneční/geomagnetickou aktivitou a výskytem mozkových mrtvic s časovým posuvem jeden rok.

We introduce an interactive tool for (simplified) simulation of influence of reflected plane situated near earthquake foci. It is expected that in such a way, it will be possible to simulate some of anomalies observed in seismograms of West Bohemia earthquakes. Představujeme interaktivní nástroj pro (zjednodušené) modelovaní efektu odrazné plochy nacházející se v blízkosti ohniska zemětřesení. Předpokládáme, že takto bude možno simulovat některé jinak nevysvětlitelné anomálie pozorované v seismogramech západočeských zemětřesení.

Daily rates of the direct PCI interventions in acute myocardial infarctions performed on two cardiological clinics in Brno (2004-2006) were analyzed from chronological aspects.They are more frequent in Monday whereas on weekends appears a minimum. They are alsomore frequent on early spring, the minimum is in November. Denní počty direktních zásahů při akutním srdečním infarktu provedené na dvou kardiologických klinikách v Brně byly analyzovány z chronobiologického hlediska. Zásahy jsou nejčastější v pondělí, zatímco o víkendech nastává minimum. Jsou také častější brzo na jaře, minimum je v listopadu.

The second author recorded during 24 years nearly 400 cases when he was attacked by heart tachyarrhythmia. This appeared during the years more often, in the last year as much as three cases in a month. Only weak dependence of arrhythmia attacks on the season or on the week has been found. Druhý z autorů zaznamenal během 24 let 400 případů, kdy byl postižen srdeční tachyarytmií. Toto se vyskytovalo v průběhu let stále častěji, poslední rok až třikrát do měsíce. Byla nalezena jen slabá závislost případů tachyarytmie na roční době nebo na dni v týdnu.

Middle-term changes in the lengths of solar cycles

In the published data of anuual sunspot numbers since 1500 and less reliable guesses of positions of minima and maxima of solar cycles since 200 B.C. middle-term changes in the cycle lenghts have been investigated. Data published by different authors differ considerably, the more the further to the past they go. Byly zkoumány střednědobé změny v délkách slunečních cyklů na základě publikovaných dat slunečních skvrn od r. 1500 a odhadů minim a maxim slunečních cyklů až k r. 200 před Kr. Data publikovaná různými autory se značně liší a to tím více, čím dále do minulosti zasahují.
