Innovation of teaching photosynthesis using ICT technologies

The thesis deals with the problem of teaching the complex topic of photosynthesis and its handover to pupils of the ninth grade of primary schools. The literary part of the thesis deals in detail with the process of photosynthesis itself together with its key aspects and at the same time presents the possibilities of using digital technologies in teaching. The practical part of the thesis tests a newly designed digital platform for teaching photosynthesis in selected primary schools. The subject of the research was the analysis of pupil's general knowledge on the topic of photosynthesis with a partial focus on photosynthesis of aquatic plants. The way in which digital technologies can contribute to a better understanding of complex topics such as photosynthesis was investigated. For example, is this form of learning engaging for pupils, how do they evaluate it, or does it help pupils overcome common misconceptions? The research subject was also the evaluation of the textbook by teachers themselves. As part of the research, a questionnaire survey was conducted among pupils, where they answered a set of questions without prior teaching and then after teaching with the digital textbook. The results obtained suggest that the digital textbook can improve the pupil's knowledge and facilitate their understanding of the whole process of photosynthesis. Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou výuky komplexního tématu fotosyntézy a jeho předáním žákům devátých tříd základní škol. Literární část práce se podrobně zabývá samotným procesem fotosyntézy společně s jeho klíčovými aspekty a současně předkládá možnosti využití digitálních technologií ve výuce. V praktické části diplomové práce se testuje nově navržená digitální platforma pro výuku fotosyntézy na vybraných základních školách. Předmětem výzkumu byla analýza obecných znalostí žáků z tématu fotosyntézy s částečným zaměřením na fotosyntézu vodních rostlin. Sledován byl způsob, jakým mohou digitální technologie přispět k lepšímu porozumění složitých témat jako je fotosyntéza. Jestli je například tato forma výuky pro žáky poutavá, jakým způsobem ji hodnotí, či jestli pomáhá žákům překonat časté mylné domněnky? Předmětem výzkumu bylo i hodnocení učebnice samotnými vyučujícími. V rámci výzkumu bylo provedeno dotazníkové šetření mezi žáky, kde odpovídali na sadu otázek bez předchozí výuky a posléze po výuce s digitální učebnicí. Získané výsledky naznačují, že digitální učebnice může zlepšit znalosti žáků a usnadnit jim porozumění celého procesu fotosyntézy.

Experiment kit for the law of force

This master's thesis deals with the development and implementation of an affordable trolley set intended for the demonstration of Newton's second law in the framework of teaching physics in primary and secondary schools. The aim of the work was to design, manufacture and test an educational tool that would not only be effective and pedagogically beneficial, but also available to a wide range of educational institutions thanks to the use of modern production technologies such as 3D printing. In the theoretical part of the thesis, a review of current pedagogical approaches to teaching physics and identification of key requirements for educational tools focused on physics experiments was carried out. The practical part is dedicated to a specific design and prototyping of the wheelchair set, including the development of associated worksheets and methodological materials for students and teachers. The pilot testing of the educational benefit of the wheelchair set was carried out in different classrooms, where the reactions of students and teachers were monitored and feedback was obtained for further improvement. The results of the testing showed that the wheelchair set significantly improves the understanding of Newton's second law among students and increases their motivation to actively participate in the learning process. This thesis provides a detailed overview of the development, application and testing research of the innovative teaching tool and its significant benefits for teaching physics. The potential of integrating modern production technologies into the development of educational materials and their influence on making quality and interactive education in the natural sciences more accessible is emphasized. Tato magisterská práce se zabývá vývojem a implementací cenově dostupné vozíkové soupravy určené pro demonstraci druhého Newtonova zákona v rámci výuky fyziky na základních a středních školách. Cílem práce bylo navrhnout, vyrobit a otestovat vzdělávací pomůcku, která by byla nejen efektivní a pedagogicky přínosná, ale také dostupná pro široké spektrum vzdělávacích institucí díky využití moderních výrobních technologií, jako je 3D tisk. V teoretické části práce byla provedena revize současných pedagogických přístupů k výuce fyziky a identifikace klíčových požadavků na vzdělávací pomůcky zaměřené na fyzikální experimenty. Praktická část se věnuje konkrétnímu designu a prototypování vozíkové soupravy, včetně vývoje přidružených pracovních listů a metodických materiálů pro žáky a učitele. Pilotní testování vzdělávacího přínosu vozíkové soupravy bylo realizováno v různých třídách, kde byly sledovány reakce studentů a učitelů a byla získána zpětná vazba pro další zlepšení. Výsledky testování ukázaly, že vozíková souprava podstatně zlepšuje porozumění druhého Newtonova zákona mezi studenty a zvyšuje jejich motivaci k aktivní účasti na výukovém procesu. Práce přináší podrobný přehled o vývoji, aplikaci a výzkumném testování inovativní výukové pomůcky a jejích významných přínosů pro výuku fyziky. Je zdůrazněn potenciál integrace moderních výrobních technologií do vývoje vzdělávacích materiálů a jejich vliv na zpřístupnění kvalitního a interaktivního vzdělávání v přírodních vědách.

The teoretical-project thesis aims to analyse the position of architecture in the education system for the first grade of Elementary School and to present architecture as an inspirational resource for teaching art education. The theoretical part further deals with a brief overview of the history of architecture, with its aim not being to conduct a detailed analysis of the topic, but to provide only a general insight. The practical outcome is an architectural-art project for the 4th and 5th grades, which provides students with a new perspective on architecture and simultaneously acquaints them with elements of construction through various techniques. Teoreticko-projektová diplomová práce si klade za cíl analyzovat postavení architektury ve vzdělávacím systému pro první stupeň ZŠ a představit architekturu jako inspirativní zdroj pro výuku výtvarné výchovy. Teoretická část se dále zabývá stručným přehledem historie architektury, přičemž není jejím cílem provádět podrobný rozbor tématu, nýbrž poskytnout pouze obecný vhled. Praktickým výstupem je architektonicko-výtvarný projekt pro 4. a 5. ročník, který zprostředkovává žákům nový úhel pohledu na architekturu a zároveň je seznamuje prostřednictvím různorodých technik s prvky stavitelství.

Individuals with mental disabilities serving a prison sentence

The diploma thesis focuses on the issue of criminality of persons with mental disabilities and specifically the thesis discusses individuals with mental disabilities serving a prison sentence. Due to the fact that this issue has not been sufficiently processed so far and it is still a neglected topic, the aim of the work is not only to approach this issue, but also to find out how the prison system aimed at this target group works and how special education services is provided to convicts with mental disabilities. The diploma thesis also discusses the effectiveness of the methods used, whether the activities of the treatment program for convicts with mental disabilities can contribute to preventing or limiting the occurrence of recidivism. The theoretical part is focused on terminology and the explanation of basic concepts that are closely related to this issue and the practical part is devoted to research that was carried out as part of a professional internship in Vinařice Prison and Stráž pod Ralskem Prison. This is qualitative research, which is carried out in the form of a case study of the two mentioned prisons, specifically specialized departments to serving a prison sentence while data obtained from interviews with employees were used, which were supplemented with findings from observations and provided materials. Based on the results of the research, recommendations were drawn up to ensure the prevention of crime among people with mental disabilities. Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou kriminality osob s mentálním postižením a konkrétně pojednává o jedincích s mentálním postižením ve výkonu trestu odnětí svobody. Vzhledem k tomu, že tato problematika nebyla doposud dostatečně zpracována a jedná se stále o opomíjené téma, je cílem práce nejen přiblížit tuto problematiku, ale zároveň zjistit, jak funguje vězeňský systém zaměřený na tuto cílovou skupinu a jakým způsobem je zajišťována speciálně pedagogická péče odsouzeným s mentálním postižením. Diplomová práce rovněž pojednává o účinnosti využívaných metod, tedy zdali aktivity programu zacházení pro odsouzené s mentálním postižením mohou přispět k předcházení či omezení výskytu recidivy. Teoretická část je zaměřena na terminologii a vysvětlení základních pojmů, které s touto problematikou úzce souvisí a praktická část se věnuje výzkumu, který byl realizován v rámci odborné stáže ve Věznici Vinařice a Věznici Stráž pod Ralskem. Jedná se o kvalitativní výzkum, který je proveden formou případové studie dvou zmíněných věznic, konkrétně specializovaných oddílů pro výkon trestu odsouzených s mentálním postižením, přičemž bylo využito dat získaných z rozhovorů se zaměstnanci, které byly doplněné o poznatky z pozorování a poskytnutých materiálů. Na základě výsledků výzkumu byla sepsána doporučení k zajištění prevence kriminality u osob s mentálním postižením.

Reflections and mirroring as art mediums at Primary school.

The presented thesis deals with reflections and mirroring as specific visual-image mediums. It follows their application in the teaching of art education at the first stage of primary school. The theoretical part of the thesis is divided into two main chapters. The first one deals with the use of these mediums across the history of art from the earliest times to contemporary artistic tendencies, while the second one focuses on the possibilities of their application in school practice. The project part will present a set of art lessons called Mirroring designed for the first grade of primary school. These lessons offer a wide range of possibilities for the use of these elements in teaching, both in terms of the application of non-traditional materials and original themes. This opens up the possibility of using reflection and mirroring in a new way, especially in the context of experimental creation. Předložená diplomová práce se zabývá odrazy a zrcadlením jako specifickými vizuálně-obraznými prostředky. Sleduje při tom jejich uplatnění ve výuce výtvarné výchovy na 1. stupni základní školy. Teoretická část práce je rozdělena do dvou hlavních kapitol. První z nich pojednává o využití těchto prostředků napříč dějinami umění od nejstarších dob až po současné umělecké tendence, druhá je pak zaměřena na možnosti jejich aplikace ve školní praxi. Projektová část představí soubor výtvarných lekcí s názvem Zrcadlení určený pro první stupeň základní školy. Tyto lekce nabízí široké spektrum možností použití zmíněných prvků ve výuce, jak už z hlediska aplikace netradičních materiálů, tak i originálních témat. Otevírá tím možnosti nového způsobu využití odrazu a zrcadlení, a to zejména v rámci experimentační tvorby.

Mathematics textbooks for secondary schools from the point of view of beginning teachers.

This master thesis deals with mathematics textbooks designed for the lower-secondary school. The aim of the work was to find out which mathematics textbooks are the mostly used by teachers in elementary schools in České Budějovice, how and to what extent teachers use textbooks and how do they evaluate them. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part defines the concept of a textbook, its function, structure, the issue of selection of a textbook and the results of research related to how teachers use textbooks. The practical part is based on a questionnaire survey carried out between teachers of mathematics at the lower-secondary school in Ceske Budejovice. At first, work procedure and the research method are described and then the results of the research are provided. Based on research, the most used textbooks for the sixth grade of elementary school are compared between themselves from the perspective of a novice teacher. The conclusion of the practical part of my diploma project is devoted to comparing the topic of axial symmetry in the selected textbooks that were chosen by the teachers in the questionnaire included in this thesis. Diplomová práce se zabývá učebnicemi matematiky určenými pro 2. stupeň základní školy. Cílem práce bylo zjistit, jaké učebnice matematiky jsou učiteli nejpoužívanější na základních školách v Českých Budějovicích, jak a v jakém rozsahu je učitelé využívají či hodnotí. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části - teoretickou a praktickou. Teoretická část vymezuje pojem učebnice, její funkci, strukturu, problematiku výběru učebnice a výsledky výzkumů vztahující se na to, jak učitelé učebnice používají. Praktická část se opírá o dotazníkové šetření provedené mezi učiteli matematiky na 2. stupni základních škol v Českých Budějovicích. Nejprve je popsán postup práce, výzkumná metoda a poté jsou uvedeny výsledky výzkumu. Na základě výzkumu jsou učiteli nejpoužívanější učebnice pro 6. ročník porovnány mezi sebou z pohledu začínajícího učitele. Závěr praktické části se věnuje srovnání tématu Osová souměrnost ve vybraných učebnicích.

The use of edible and medicinal mushrooms in the food industry

A gluten-free diet may be often deficient. Edible and medicinal mushrooms appear to be an attractive commodity to expand its diversity, thanks to their fast growth, easy distribution and good nutritional values. The aim of this thesis was to design a gluten free product with an nutritional mushroom component, which will be interesting for the evaluators both sensorially and nutritionally. At the same time it should follow trends in the food industry. The basis for all samples was rice and sorghum flour and butter. The variable component was corn and buckwheat flours and shiitake mushrooms. Overall, cookies with the fortifying ingredient were rated better than those without. Bezlepkový jídelníček může být často velmi ochuzený. Jedlé a léčivé houby se jeví jako atraktivní komodita pro rozšíření jeho diverzity, díky rychlému růstu, snadné distribuci a dobrým nutričním vlastnostem. Cílem práce bylo navrhnout bezlepkový produkt s obohacující houbovou složkou, který bude pro hodnotitele zajímavý senzoricky i nutričně, a zároveň bude sledovat trendy v potravinářství. Základem u všech vzorků byla rýžová a čiroková mouka a máslo. Variabilní složku tvořily mouky kukuřičná a pohanková a houba shiitake. V senzorickém hodnocení byly celkově lépe hodnoceny sušenky s obohacující složkou než bez ní.

Psychohygiene and stress amongst social workers

The work deals with the psychohygiene and stress among social workers, which affects them during the course of their work. The theoratical part characterizes the work of a social worker, its content and methods of social work. It also describes the psychological strain in the form of stress, frustration, conflict and burnout syndrome, which may occur under the heavy influence of aforementioned burdens. The last chapter of the theoretical part deals with the rules and means of psychohygiene that can be used in social work. The practical part contains research, which is carried out using a semi-structured interview with 5 female respondents who have been working in the social field for more than 10 years. The research is focused on the effect of the demands placed on workers during the performance of their work, on the awareness of psychohygiene of their means and possible prevention against stress, workload and burnout syndrome. Práce se zabývá psychohygienou a stresem sociálních pracovníků, který na ně působí při výkonu jejich práce. Teoretická část charakterizuje práci sociálního pracovníka, jeho náplň a metody sociální práce. Dále popisuje psychickou zátěž v podobě stresu, frustrace, konfliktu a syndromu vyhoření, který může nastat při velkém vlivu výše zmíněných zátěží. Poslední kapitola teoretické části se zabývá pravidly a prostředky psychohygieny, které lze využívat v sociální práci. Praktická část obsahuje výzkum, který je realizovaný pomocí polostrukturovaného rozhovoru s 5 respondentkami, které se v sociální oblasti pohybují více jak 10 let. Výzkum je zaměřený na vliv nároků, které jsou na pracovníky kladeny při výkonu jejich práce, na povědomí psychohygieny jejich prostředků a možné prevence proti stresu, pracovní zátěži a syndromu vyhoření.

The use of textbooks in the teaching of natural history from the point of view of teachers

This diploma thesis investigates which textbooks and other materials teachers use for preparation and teaching while teaching at the 2nd grade of elementary school. The main goal of the diploma thesis was to find out how intensively teachers use textbooks for teaching natural history, and what kind of specific publishers they prefere, what other teaching materials teachers use. And also teachers' opinions on individual components of textbook sets. The research sample consisted of a total of 41 primary school teachers of the 2nd grade, mainly in the South Bohemian Region. As a research tool for data collection, I used the questionnaire survey method. The constructed questionnaire consists of 20 questions that relate to the choice of textbooks, preferred characteristics of textbooks, the influence of textbooks on the content of teaching and the adaptation of teaching texts. The evaluation of results was made verbally accompanied by graphic form (pictures). Tato diplomová práce zjišťuje, jaké učebnice a jiné materiály využívají učitelé k přípravě a výuce při výuce na 2. stupni základní školy. Hlavním cílem diplomové práce bylo zjistit, jak intenzivně učitelé využívají učebnice pro výuku přírodopisu a jaké konkrétní nakladatelství preferují, které další výukové materiály učitelé využívají. Dále zjistit názory učitelů na jednotlivé součásti učebnicových souborů. Výzkumný vzorek tvořilo celkem 41 učitelů 2. stupně základní školy převážně v Jihočeském kraji, Jako výzkumný nástroj pro sběr dat jsem využila metodu dotazníkového šetření. Zkonstruovaný dotazník se skládá z20 otázek, které se týkaly volby učebnic, preferovaných vlastností učebnic, vlivu učebnic na obsah výuky a adaptace učebních textů. Vyhodnocení zjištěných výsledků bylo provedeno slovně s doprovodem grafické formy (obrázky).

Hopes and Limits of Fair Trade from a Socio-economic Perspective

The work deals with the topic of fair trade from a socio-economic point of view, with the aim of describing the main historical milestones of fair trade and answering the set research questions. In the first part of the work, the key aspects of fair trade, its historical development and the benefits and limitations of this business model are identified through literature research. Using the results obtained as part of a questionnaire survey, the empirical part examines the behavior, knowledge and awareness of consumers about the concept of fair trade, which turns out to be very narrow. It also provides an insight into the factors that have the greatest influence on the support of fair trade in companies selling fair trade products. It turns out that profit is not the most important factor. Last but not least, it was found that companies see the future in fair trade and continue to plan to sell these products. Práce se zabývá tématem fair trade ze socio-ekonomického hlediska s cílem popsat hlavní historické milníky fair trade a zodpovědět stanovené výzkumné otázky. V první části práce jsou prostřednictvím literární rešerše identifikovány klíčové aspekty spravedlivého obchodu, jeho historický vývoj a přínosy i omezení tohoto obchodního modelu. Pomocí výsledků získaných v rámci dotazníkového šetření zkoumá empirická část chování, znalosti a povědomí spotřebitelů o konceptu fair trade, které se ukazuje být velice úzké. Dále poskytuje pohled na faktory, které mají u podniků prodávající fair trade produkty největší vliv na podporu spra-vedlivého obchodu. Vyplývá, že zisk není hlavním faktorem. V neposlední řadě bylo zjištěno, že firmy vidí ve fair trade budoucnost, a i nadále plánují tyto produkty prodávat.
