Beneš’ Concept of Democratic State in the course of the World War I and in the beginning of state

2009 - Czech In his intentions and aims related to the establishment of the Czechoslovak State and its keeping within the founding ideas, E. Beneš was in agreement with T. G. Masaryk. The resistance movement’s starting point was that limitations upon the power of nation do not comply with democratic principles. In his works, Beneš however shows autonomous ways of solving political issues, mostly grounded on a scientific base. His concept was based on a study of individualism in the history of philosophy, theory of political partisanship, democratic ideals, and empiric method. To solve the Czech issue he demanded that Austria-Hungary should be overthrown as being an oppressor of nations and a support of Germany. He intended to build "The most democratic state from a social point of view and the most progressive one from a political viewpoint". Beneš was a co-creator and re-builder of a state. V záměrech a cílech souvisejících s vytvořením československého státu a jeho udržení v rámci zakladatelských idejí se E. Beneš shodoval s T. G. Masarykem. Východiskem odboje byl názor, že omezení moci národa není v souladu s demokratickými principy. Přesto lze v Benešových pracích sledovat samostatné řešení politických problémů, vesměs založené na vědeckém základě. Jeho koncepce vycházela ze studia individualismu v dějinách filozofie, teorie politického stranictví, demokratických ideálů a empirické metody. Českou otázku řešil požadavkem na zničení Rakouska-Uherska jako utlačovatele národů a oporu Německa. Hodlal vybudovat "Stát nejdemokratičtější z hlediska sociálního a nejpokročilejší z hlediska politického". Po druhé světové válce řešil teoreticky otázku možností nutné spolupráce a sblížení systému politické demokracie a sovětského socialismu. Beneš byl spolutvůrcem a obnovitelem státu. State-Nation, Collective Memory and Nationalism (State of Research and the Possibilities of its Development)

2008 - Czech Paper is treating the problems of relations between State-Nation and collective memory. The first part gives a systematic review of theories of nacionalism and the State-Nation theories (E. Gellner, K. W. Deutsch, P. Brass, B. Anderson, etc.), the second part submits a brief characteristic of collective memory according to Maurice Halbwachs and his works. In the last part of text the collective memories and its formative relations to the State-Nation are analyzed by the help of school-books, the State-Nation army formation, the commemorations, etc. A special attention is paid to France and Germany. Studie se zabývá problémy vztahů mezi národním státem a kolektivní pamětí. V první části jsou přehledně podány teorie nacionalismu a národního státu (E. Gellner, K. W. Deutsch,P. Brass, B. Anderson, atd.), druhá část podává stručnou charakteristiku kolektivní paměti v závislosti na pracích M. Halbwachse a dalších. Poslední část analyzuje vztah kolektivní paměti k národnímu státu za pomoci studia školních učebnic, komemorací, atd. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována Francii a Německu. Legal Manuscripts in Parish St. James’s Library in Brno

2008 - Czech Valuable collection of 122 medieval manuscripts has been preserved in the parish library at the St. James's Church in Brno, dating from the end of 13th century to the beginning of the 16th century, together with 141 incunabula. Apart from liturgical, homiletic, patristic codices, biblical commentaries and other theological and philosophical texts, there are also a few juridical manuscripts, mainly canonical-legal. Since 1931, the library has been deposited in the Archives of the City of Brno; however, it has not yet been made accessible by a proper and modern register. In the past, a large number of liturgical manuscripts were used by historians and musicologists, especially during several exhibitions of gothic art and Moravian book painting. Ve farní knihovně při kostele sv. Jakuba v Brně se dochoval mimořádně hodnotný soubor 122 rukopisů z konce 13. až počátku 16. století. Jde nejen o největší a nejhodnotnější kolekci rukopisů, ale i 141 prvotisků, jaká se ve farních knihovnách v českých zemích dochovala. Od roku 1931 je knihovna deponována v Archivu města Brna, dosud však není zpřístupněna odpovídajícím soupisem. Vedle liturgických, homiletických, patristických kodexů, biblických komentářů a dalších textů je v knihovně i necelá desítka právních rukopisů, vesměs kanonickoprávních. Nalezneme zde opisy základní sbírky Dekretálů Řehoře IX. s větším počtem textů komentářů k Dekretu, Dekretálům, Liber Sextus a Klementinám. Časté jsou i pomůcky ke sbírkám kanonického práva. Několik rukopisů obsahuje též texty určené pro foro interno a pro poučení duchovních správců či zpovědníků. Jedná se především o různé Summy confessorum, Poetinentiale či Confessionale od známých autorit, ale i o dosud neznámé sbírky a anonymní texty.
