Interesting and impressive experiments in organic chemistry

Experiments are essential in hiqh-quality teaching of chemistry, because they demonstrate some regularities of nature in praxis, and visually attractive experiments also make learning chemistry more interesting. Several such experiments are demonstrated. Pokusy jsou nepostradatelnou součástí kvalitní výuky chemie, protože osvětlují některé zákonitosti přírody v praxi a zejména vizuálně atraktivní pokusy navíc činí studium chemie přitažlivějším. Je rozebráno několik příkladů takových pokusů.

This popular lecture gives an introduction to molecular gastronomy as originally founded by Hervé This and Nicholas Kurti. This scientific discipline covers the gap between food technology and practical gastronomy. Some practical examples are used to illustrate this approach. Tato populární přednáška je úvodem do molekulární gastronomie, kterou založili společně Hervé This a Nicholas Kurti. Tato vědecká disciplína vyplňuje mezeru mezi potravinářskou technologií a praktickou gastronomií. Tento přístup je doplněn několika praktickými příklady.

Mechanical properties of organic - inorganic nanocomposites coatings

The contribution deals with the determination of tribological properties of hybrid organic-inorganic epoxy-based coatings on tribometer by method pin-on-disc. The friction coeffiecient and wear resistance were monitored. Examined specimens were prepared from functionalized organosilicon precursors, oligomeric di- or triamines and colloidal silica particles. The products are the result of two independent reaction mechanisms: the sol-gel process and the epoxy-amine addition reactions. Tribologické vlastnosti hybridních organicko anorganických epoxidových povlaků byly určeny na tribometru metodou pin-on-disc s monitoringem frikčního koeficientu a odolnosti proti opotřebení. Vzorky byly připraveny z funkcionalizovaných organosilikonových prekurzorů, oligomerních di- a triaminů a koloidních křemenných částic Produkt je dán dvěma nezávislými procesy: sol-gel a epoxy-amino adiční reakcí.

The microscopic study of bismuth coatings onto a surface of carbon paste electrode. The role of deposition system on properties and behavior bismuth film electrodes

This paper brings the results of microscopic study of bismuth coatings. The coatings were plated onto a carbon paste surface from silicon oil and studied by electron microscopy and EDX microanalysis. Tento příspěvek přináší výsledky mikroskopické studie povlaků bismutu, nanášených na povrch uhlíkové pasty ze silikonového oleje za různých podmínek vylučovacího režimu. Elektronovou mikroskopií v kombinaci s povrchovou analýzou vyloučených struktur pomocí rentgenové sondy bylo potvrzeno, pozorované povlaky vykazovaly značnou variabilitu v závislosti na podmínkách depozice.

The influence of the plating regione of bismuth coating onto carbon paste: a microscopic study

This paper gives the results of the microscopic study of bismuth coatings deposited on carbon paste surface from solutions with different compostition. The observed structures show the impontence of the regime deposition for preparation of bismuth film electrodes for electroanalytical measurements. Tento příspěvek přináší výsledky mikroskopické studie povlaků bismutu, nanášených na povrch uhlíkové pasty z vylučovacích roztoků různého složení. Elektronovým mikroskopem pozorované struktury vzniklých povlaků poukázaly na jejich značnou variabilitu v závislosti na podmínkách depozice a tím i na důležitost režimu vylučování pro přípravu bismutových filmových elektrod k elektoanalytickým měřením.

Pure and Sm3+ doped amoprhous thin films of Sb2S3 and GeS2-Sb2S3 systems were prepared by thermal co-evaporation. Optical properties of this films were studied. Vakuovým napařováním byly připraveny amorfní tenké filmy Ab2S3 a GeS2 - Sb2S3 čisté i dotované Sm3+ ionty. Byly studovány jejich optické vlastnosti.

Hybrid organic-inorganic polymer membranes were prepared by the alkaline precipitation of membrane precursors comprising chitosan and condensed oligomeric siloxanes (POSS). The influence of the POSS type and precipitation conditions on the morphology and transport properties of resulting membranes were investigated. Hybridní organicko-anorganické membrány byly připraveny alkalickým srážením prekurzorů membrán tvořených chitosanem a kondenzovanými oligomerními siloxany (POSS). Byl studován vliv typu POSSu a podmínek srážecí reakce na morfologii a transportní vlastnosti výsledných membrán.
