Functions - from pointwise values to distributions
Šimša, Jaromír
2002 - Czech
We consider transformations of usual pointwise-valued functions to generalizedfunctions ( distributions ) which play an important role in modern physics. Keywords: Dirac function; Heaviside function; Radon measure Available at various institutes of the ASCR

Modelling three-dimensional objects - course from 3D to 2D and back
Roubíček, Filip
2002 - Czech
Modelling is one of characteristic cognitive methods in the teaching of geometry. The interconnection of two-dimensional and three-dimensional modelling is important for the development of a space imagination and another skills in thesolid geometry. Keywords: modelling; teaching of geometry Available at various institutes of the ASCR

Dissipative processes and their modelling by means of methods theory of partial differential equations of evolution type
Straškraba, Ivan
2001 - Czech
In this lecture some problems of mathematical theory of dissipative processes are discussed. The influence of dissipative mechanism on existence and qualitative behavior of solution is shown in different levels of generality. Keywords: dissipative processes%evolution equations Available at various institutes of the ASCR

On improving teachersď beliefs about mathematical education
Tichá, Marie
2000 - Czech
The contribution is based on our belief about teacherďs decisive effect on the character of mathematical education. Therefore we put stress to the necessity to help teachers to shift them from "transferring of informations" to the "bringing of challenges, questions, problems". Some impulses how to influence teacherďs belief and our present experience from the work with teachers are given. Available on request at various institutes of the ASCR
