Poznatky z evropského projektu BReATH a postřehy z konference “Europe at the Speed of Light 2006"

V příspěvku je vysvětleno poslání evropského projektu BReATH (BRoadband e-services and Access for The Home) – a presentovány předběžné výsledky dosažené v rámci tohoto projektu. Dále jsou uvedeny informace o pokrocích ve vývoji technologií FTTx a jejich nasazování do přístupových sítí zejména v zemích Evropské unie. The mission and preliminary results achieved in the framework of the European FP6 IST Project BReATH (BRoadband e-services and Access for The Home) are presented. Advances in FTTx technologies and in their deployment in the access networks as presented in the “Europe at the Speed of Light 2006” Conference held in Vienna are described.

Zpráva obsahuje přehled výsledků prací v oblasti primární metrologie času a frekvence dosažených v rámci plnění úkolu III/13/06 Programu rozvoje metrologie v Laboratoři Státního etalonu času a frekvence (SEČF) v ÚRE AV ČR v prvním pololetí roku 2006. This progress report gives a summary of the results obtained in time and frequency metrology at the Laboratory of the National Time and Frequency Standard at the Institute of Radio Engineering and Electronics within the Project III/13/06 of the Program of Metrology Development in the first half of 2006.

Overview of broadband development in Czech Republic

The main milestones in developing broadband in the Czech Republic are described and analysis of the relevant market no. 12 as performed by the Czech Telecommunication Office is commented. National broadband strategy is presented and funding of broadband projects are described. Up-to-date data on broadband penetration and on its availability across the country is given. Some consumer issues are discussed. V příspěvku jsou popsány mílníky ve vývoji broadbandu v České republice a průběh analýzy relevantního trhu č. 12 jak jí zpracovával Český telekomunikační úřad. Dále je popsána Národní politika pro vysokorychlostní přístup k Internetu a podpora realizace broadbandových projektů. Jsou uvedeny aktuální údaje o penetraci broadbandových přípojek v ČR a jejich dostupnost. Na závěr jsou diskutovány některé otázky rozvoje broadbandu v ČZ z pohledu spotřebitele.

Prosody modelling possibilities of the EPOS TTS using the MIBROLA interface

This paper deals with prosody modelling possibilities of the Epos Text-To Speech (TTS) sytem. The aim is to build the TTS system with an absolute duration modelling of the separate sounds and the possibility of using MBROLA compatible Czech voices. The Epos is a very flexible language independent TTS system. It can be widely configured without the need of recompilation. The use of editable rules for every step during the synthesis makes it easy to monitor the progress of the synthesis and to apply changes. Příspěvek se zabývá možnostmi modelování prosodie v TTS systému EPOS. Cílem je vytvořit TTS systém, který je schopný modelovat trvání jednotlivých hlásek a tím dosáhnout snadného využití MBROLA kompatibilních českých hlasů. Epos je jazykově nezávislý systém pro převod textu do řeči (Text-To-Speech). Může být konfigurován v širokých mezích bez nutnosti nové kompilace. Využitím editovatelných pravidel pro každý krok syntézy nabízí Epos možnost sledování celého procesu a snadný postup při aplikaci změn.

LPE growth of InP using rare-earth treated melts

Addition of REs to the growth melt is known to have purifying effect on AIIIBV LPE layers. Each member of REs family acts in its own way. Small addition of Tb, Dy, Tm, and Pr leads to pronounced gettering of shallow donors, the high purity n-type InP can be grown. Exceeding certain concentration, reversal of conductivity type from n to p occurs. Addition of Tm during growth on InP:Fe substrates always results in the preparation of semi-insulating layers due to Fe out-diffusion mediated by RE admixture. Je známo, že přidáním prvků vzácných zemin do růstové taveniny lze získat LPE vrstvy sloučenin AIIIBV vysoké čistoty. Každý z těchto prvků však vykazuje jedinečné chování. Nízké přídavky Tb, Dy, Tm a Pr vedou ke getraci mělkých donorů a růstu čistých vrstev vodivosti typu n. Při překročení určité koncentrace dochází ke změně vodivostního typu. Přídavek Tm na InP:Fe substrátech má za následek konverzi epitaxní vrstvy do semiizolačního stavu kvůli difuzi Fe zprostředkované vzácnou zeminou.

Implementace TTS systému s kepstrálním popisem v kapesním počítači

Zpráva se zabývá popisem přebudování původního česko-slovenského TTS systému na bázi kepstrálního popisu difónového řečového inventáře pro funkci v kapesních počítačích s operačním systémem Windows CE. Ve zprávě je popsán Braillský zápisník se speciálním softwarovým vybavením pro nevidomé nebo slabozraké uživatele. Pro tento zápisník byl implementován český a slovenský syntezátor řeči, což spolu s vytvořeným instalačním a testovacím programem bylo hlavním cílem prováděných prací. The report is focused to description of rebuilding the original Czech and Slovak TTS system based on the cepstral description of diphone speech inventory to the form acceptable by the Pocket PC computers running under Widows CE OS. The special aids for blind and partially sighted people Braille notetaker based on PPC with the EasyLink software is there also described. The report below contains description of implementation of the Czech and Slovak speech synthesizer as new voices for the EasyLink system.

Pseudo cepstrogram and its application to speech analysis

Generalized cepstral speech analysis is briefly summarized and applied to the construction of cepstrograms. By means of cepstrograms and pseudo cepstrograms of clean and noise corrupted speech it is shown that pseudo cepstrograms are more robust to background noise. The mel-scale representation of the speech spectrum is further used as a pre-processing step in pseudo cepstrum visualization. This combination of nonlinear approaches proved to be a very effective tool in speech processing. Je stručně popsána zobecněná kepstrální analýza a je použita ke konstrukci kepstrogramů. Na příkladech kepstrogramů a pseudokepstrogramů čisté a šumem znehodnocené řeči je ukázáno, že pseudokepstrogramy jsou odolnější k šumu pozadí. Dále je použita mel stupnice v řečovém spektru jako předzpracování při zobrazení pseudokepstra. Tato kombinace nelineárních přístupů se ukázala jako velmi účinná pro zpracování řeči.

Proceedings of the Workshop on Speech Processing is a periodic publication collecting the contributions presented at the Czech-German Workshop organized every year in September in Prague This proceedings volume includes30 papers by 55 authors. Papers are devoted to phonetics and prosody, construction of dialogs, speech analysis, synthesis and enhancement, speaker and speech recognition and voice conversion. Sborník Workshopu o zpracování řeči je periodická publikace obsahující příspěvky přednesených na workshopech organizovaných každoročně v září v Praze. Letošní sborník obsahuje 30 příspěvků od 55 autorů. Příspěvky jsou věnovány fonetice a prosodii, konstrukci dialogů, analýze, syntéze a zvýrazňování řeči, rozpoznávání mluvčího a řeči a konversi hlasu.
