Metodika měření poklesu rychlosti letících projektilů při průniku různými hmotami pomocí digitálního optomechanického zařízení

Metodika popisuje postupy, použitá zařízení a software potřebná k měření průběhu poklesu rychlosti letících projektilů skrz různé sypké i pevné hmoty. Výhoda a unikátnost této metodiky spočívá v schopnosti měření útlumových charakteristik různých materiálů při impaktu projektilem o vysoké rychlosti. Metodika je založena na systému tenkých desek s optickým vláknem, které fungují při průletu střely jako světelné časové brány s definovanou vzájemnou roztečí. This methodology describes the procedures, the equipment and software used for measurement of the speed decrease of flying projectile through different bulk, silicate and solid masses. The advantage and uniqueness of this methodology consists in ability to measure the attenuation characteristics of various materials during the impact by high speed projectile. The methodology is based on a system of thin plates with optic fibers that function as a light-time gate with a defined pitch. A number of parameters appearing in the 'classical' empirical constitutive equations usually oscillate between two and five. With the onset of new rheologically more complex materials exhibiting non-monotonous behaviour of flow curves this range (2-5) is no longer tenable and more additional parameters are required for a proper description of the flow curves. Electrochemical Monitoring of the Water Clusters Formation in an Organic Solvent in the Presence of Hydrated Ions

An electrochemical method has been developed that makes it possible to monitor the\ndynamics of the co-extraction of water with hydrated chloride ions at the interface between\ntwo immiscible electrolyte solutions (ITIES). The interfacial potential was controlled by the\ndistribution of a common tetralkylammonium (TAA+) ion. Changes in the TAA+\nconcentration at the interface were monitored by measuring the open circuit potential (OCP).\nTransfer of hydrated chloride ions is accompanied by the transfer of TAA+, decreasing its\nconcentration on the aqueous side of the interface. This process involves the co-extraction of\nwater molecules with the hydrated chloride ions and the formation of water clusters in the\norganic solvent phase. The ability to monitor the process from the very beginning of interface\nformation allowed us to obtain important kinetic data. The role of microstructure on wettability of plasma sprayed yttria stabilized zirconia coatings

Atmospheric plasma spraying utilizing initial powder materials in micrometric size has been successfully used for various applications in different fields of the industry over the past several decades. Nowadays, the new trend in plasma spraying is to use sub-micron or nano-sized powder feedstocks in the form of colloidal suspension. This relatively new technology enables to obtain specific types of dense vertically cracked, fully dense or columnar microstructure. The aim of this work is to investigate the influence of coatings microstructure and topography on its water wetting properties. Two different microstructures, i.e. lamellar and columnar, were sprayed from chemically the same yttria-stabillized zirconia (YSZ) ceramics powders by the means of conventional atmospheric plasma spray and suspension hybrid water stabilized plasma spray techniques, respectively. Microstructural and phase composition of the initial powders and as-sprayed coatings were investigated using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction techniques. Topography of coatings surface was measured by means of non-contact optical profilometry. The YSZ coatings wettability was evaluated based on water droplet contact angle using Sessile droplet method. Silver Solid Amalgam Electrodes as Perspective Tools for Sensitive Voltammetric Determinations of Food Azo Dyes Amaranth and Allura Red AC

In this paper, for the first time, the electrochemical behaviours of the food azo dyes Amaranth (E 123) and Allura Red AC (E 129) were investigated on two modifications of silver solid amalgam electrode, namely mercury meniscus modified, polished and compared with hanging mercury drop electrode using differential pulse voltammetry and direct current voltammetry. The effect of adsorption and the reduction mechanism on tested electrodes were described in detail. Measurements with amalgam electrodes showed good reproducibility, stability and high sensitivity. As a result, they were successfully applied for the determination of investigated azo dyes in different commercial drink samples. Employing Bayesian Networks for Subjective Well-being Prediction

This contribution aims at using Bayesian networks for modelling the relations between the individual subjective well-being (SWB) and the individual material situation. The material situation is approximated by subjective measures (perceived economic strain, subjective evaluation of the income relative to most people in the country and to own past) and objective measures (household’s income, material deprivation, financial problems and housing defects). The suggested Bayesian network represents the relations among SWB and the variables approximating the material situation. The structure is established based on the expertise gained from literature, whereas the parameters are learnt based on empirical data from 3rd edition of European Quality of Life Study for the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia conducted in 2011. Prediction accuracy of SWB is tested and compared with two benchmark models whose structures are learnt using Gobnilp software and a greedy algorithm built in Hugin software. SWB prediction accuracy of the expert model is 66,83%, which is significantly different from no information rate of 55,16%. It is slightly lower than the two machine learnt benchmark models. Our analysis reveals that a company’s name may be related to its economic productivity. The name’s alphabetical position, the use of “national”4 words, and the inclusion of English phrases within the name all play a role. This study looks at the association between certain characteristics of a company’s name and growth in the company’s turnover, growth in value added and profit from shares using company data from 17 EU countries over a period of more than 15 years. We distinguish between companies in countries where Romance languages, Slavic languages and Germanic languages are spoken. The effects of company names vary across these language-country groups.
