The song of saint Adalbert. The tradition of the song Hospodine pomiluj ny (Lord, have mercy on us), Saint Adalbert legend and the Slavonic monastery in Prague

2017 - Czech The article deals with the reception of the oldest Czech song Hospodine pomiluj ny, which circulated as the song of Saint Adalbert. The most recent dating of the text between the 10th and 11th century solved the disputes about the age of the song and supported the earlier allegation that both the text and the melody were derived from the church slavonic version of litanies which had been used abundantly in west Europe from the 1st milleny as the standard form of the people's worship. The gathered documentation speaks about the tausend-year tradition which was accompanied by the development and varieties and which later underwent several historicizing redactions (in the 17th, 19th and 20th centuries). Continuity of the recitation cadence of the old layers of western choral music appears in the individual versions of melody and is analogous with the melodies of the traditional glagolitic chant in Croatia. Studie se zabývá dějinami recepce nejstarší české duchovní písně Hospodine pomiluj ny. Původ textu, poprvé zapsaného ve 14. století se dnes datuje do 10.-11. století, struktura textu i nápěvu je odvozena ze západního typu litanií v církevní slovanštině. Dějiny recepce této písně zahrnují její využití v různých funkcích, náležejících formě litanie (v rámci liturgie, při královské korunovaci, před bitvami, v čase nebezpečí, pro získání odpustků). Dlouhá tradice písně zahrnuje několik různých - i historizujících - redakcí. Dvě různé tradice recepce písně se krátce protly v liturgii Emauzského kláštera (s kostele zasvěceným mj. sv. Vojtěchovi, domnělému autorovi písně) ve 14. století. Lze doložit též souvislost mezi melodií písně Hospodine pomiluj ny a tradicí hlaholského zpěvu v Chorvatsku. A Comprehensive Musical Analysis of Bohemian Traditional Songs from the Sources of the Governmental Collection of 1819

2017 - Czech Since 2000, a computer database of Bohemian traditional songs and their instrumental melodies has been developed at the ethnomusicology section of the Prague branch of Institute of Ethnology of Czech Academy of Sciences. Up to now, 6,000 songs have been analyzed in detail. The songs have been transcribed into nu¬merical codes and analyzed due to their tonality, melody and rhythm in relation to both their musical form and song lyrics. The presented study presents the results of the analysis of 491 traditional songs from the sources of the governmental collec¬tion of 1819. Od roku 2000 je v oddělení etnomuzikologie pražského Etnologického ústavu AV ČR budována počítačová analyzační databáze českých lidových písní a instrumentálních melodií. Dosud jich bylo podrobně analyzováno 6 000. Nápěvy byly transkribovány do číselných kódů a podrobeny rozboru v oblastech tonality, melodiky a rytmiky ve vztahu k hudební formě a písňovému textu. Zde prezentovaná studie představuje výsledky analýzy 491 lidových písní z pramenů sběratelské akce z roku 1819. Musicological bibliographic database

2017 - Czech The Musicological Bibliographical Database is a project under the auspices of the Music History Department at the CAS Institute of Ethnology, which carries on from the older bibliographical activities there, as it has been developed and updated on an ongoing basis since 2013, with the emphasis on records of current additions to domestic musicological publication output. It includes monographs, critical editions, anthologies and analytical articles in anthologies and journals, as well as articles in anthologies and journals (with 50 years of the Hudební věda journal completely processed, while other musicological journals are being processed under the VISK9 program), chapters from books, reviews and reports of any importance. This database is based on the ALEPH library cataloguing programme using RDA cataloguing standards that are currently in effect, making use of a connection to the national database of authorities at the Czech National Library. Since 2015 it has been supplemented in the form of database retroconversion by bibliographical records created by transcribing from older printed data bases. At present the database has over 8,000 entries.\n Muzikologická bibliografická databáze je projekt, zaštítěný Kabinetem hudební historie EÚ AV ČR, v. v. i. a navazující na jeho starší bibliografické aktivity. Rozvíjí a doplňuje se postupně od roku 2013, s důrazem na evidenci aktuálních přírůstků tuzemské muzikologické publikační produkce. Zahrnuje monografie, kritické edice, sborníky, z oblasti analytického rozpisu pak články ve sbornících a časopisech (kompletně zpracováno je 50 ročníku časopisu Hudební věda, další muzikologické časopisy se zpracovávají v rámci programu VISK9), kapitoly z knih, recenze a důležitější zprávy. Databáze je založena na knihovnickém katalogizačním programu Aleph - s použitím aktuálně platné katalogizační normy RDA, využívá napojení na národní databázi autorit Národní knihovny ČR. Od roku 2015 je formou retrokonverze databáze doplňována o bibliografické záznamy vznikající přepisem ze starších tištěných databází. Aktuálně má databáze přes 8000 záznamů. Folklore in the mirror of individual and social interests (a case study of the Czech ethnologist František\nPospíšil)

2017 - Czech František Pospíšil (1885–1958), a noted ethnologist from Brno, was one of the scholars whose research aims and interpretations of the topics which he studied were determined both by his individual interests as well as by social context. The paper attempts to demonstrate it. Pospíšil, who was interested in modern research methods (using phonograph, camera, and film camera) and was ambitious, stretched his research from his home region of Haná in Moravia to Native Americans (within his sword dance study and weapon dance study); his findings were quoted by many respected scholars of the period. Within the Czech environment, Pospíšil was one of the first scholars who used a phonograph to record folk singing; within the international context, Pospíšil was one of the first scholars who used a film camera to research dances. In fact, anything that Pospíšil did in the field of ethnology was unique; he covered a very broad range of themes and geographical areas, he also explored cultural phenomena which were on the margin of interest of others, and he employed an agile manager like approach. Due to some unfavourable historical circumstances, Pospíšil’s name was almost forgotten especially in the Czech context, and there is almost no mention of him in the texts on the history of Czech and Slovak folkloristics.
