Centipede assemblages in an abandoned arable field with different plant diversity manipulations

Centipede assemblages were investigated in a field experiment aimed at assessing the effect of different plant diversity manipulations on the development of vegetation and soil fauna. Randomised blocks with continued crop rotation (CCR), natural colonisation (NC), low-diversity seed mixture (LDT), and high-diversity seed mixture (HDT) were sampled for centipedes in April to May 2002 through 2004. Species composition, dominance structure, densities and diversity indices in individual treatments were determined. A total of six centipede species were found in the study plots over the whole period of observation. Unlike .i.Lithobius nodulipes, L. microps, L. lapidicola, Schendyla nemorensis, Geophilus oligopus./i., only .i.G. truncorum./i. occurred and predominated throughout the observation period in all treatments and plots. The lowest density (4.8-14.4 ind.m.sup.-2./sup.) was always restricted to CCR plots. Společenstva stonožek byla studována v polním experimentu, který byl zaměřen na posouzení vlivu různých manipulačních postupů na rozvoj vegetace a půdní fauny. Plochy s trvalým obhospodařováním, přirozenou rostlinnou sukcesí a plochy oseté nízkou a vysokou diverzitou rostlin byly vzorkovány v dubnu-květnu v letech 2002 až 2004. Byly stanoveny parametry druhové skladby, dominance, density a indexy diversity. Celkem bylo zaznamenáno 6 druhů stonožek. Nejnižší density byly zaznamenány na plochách trvale obhospodařovaných. Manipulace s diversitou rostlinného krytu významně neovlivnila sukcesi společenstev stonožek. Na osetých plochách vzrostla druhová bohatost dříve než na plochách trvale obhospodařovaných a plochách se spontánním rozvojem vegetace. Vyšší abundanci vykazovaly plochy s nižší diverzitou rotlinného pokryvu.

The aim of our work was to study dispersal of Aceria carvi from infested caraway fields. The obtained results confirmed anemochory and revealed that number of migrating mites increases with ripping of caraway. Cílem práce bylo studium šíření hálčivce kmínového z napadených porostů do okolí. Výsledky potvrdily anemochorii a ukázaly, že počet migrujících roztočů narůstá s dozráváním porostu kmínu.

The aim of this work was to assess yield reduction of biennial caraway due to its infestation by Aceria carvi mite. The results revealed that plants showing symptomps of infestation produced significantly less seeds (2.11 g per plant) compared to healthy plants (5.18 g per plant). Cílem práce bylo odhadnout výši ztrát kmínu kořenného způsobených napadením hálčivcem kmínovým. Výsledky ukázaly, že napadené rostliny měly významně méně semen (2.11 g na rostlinu) než zdravé rostliny (5.18 g na rostlinu).

Paper concerns documentation of Horse Chestnut Leafminer in leaves by modern digital tools. They are: digital cameras like model Sony DSC-F828 in the near-infrared (700-880 nm) including video mode (VGA, 30 fps), digital camera inside mobil phone Sony Eriscon K750i, flatbed scanners and recent digital camcorders. Some methods of image processing were applied to digital images. Práce se zabývá snímáním vývojových stádií klíněnky jírovcové v listech pomocí moderních digitálních prostředků. Jsou to: digitální fotoaparáty jako třeba DSC-F828 v oblasti infračerveného světla (700-880 nm) včetně video módu (VGA, 30 fps), digitální fotoaparát uvnitř mobilního telefonu Sony Eriscon K750i, stolní skenery a digitální videokamery. Na digitální obrázky byly aplikovány některé metody zpracování obrazu.
