2018 - Czech Tento dokument je výsledkem projektu Analýza bariér a strategie podpory genderové rovnosti, který v letech 2017 a 2018 realizuje Sociologický ústav AV ČR v rámci Operačního programu Zaměstnanost (reg. č. CZ.03.1.51/0.0/0.0/15_028/0003571). Cílem projektu byla příprava návrhů opatření prosazování genderové rovnosti v oblasti výzkumu a vývoje pro státní orgány a další klíčové státní aktéry vědních politik s národní působností (MŠMT, Úřad vlády, RVVI, GA ČR, TA ČR aj.). Cílí též na management vysokoškolských a výzkumných organizací a jejich zastřešující organizace (Česká konference rektorů, Akademie věd České republiky). Dokument je také určen pro vládní orgány, které mají v gesci oblast rovnosti žen a mužů (Oddělení rovnosti žen a mužů vlády ČR). Návrhy vychází z toho, že pro úspěšnou realizaci předkládaných opatření je potřeba součinnost orgánů státní správy se samotnými výzkumnými a vysokoškolskými organizacemi, zároveň též zdůrazňuje roli a odpovědnost vedoucích pracovníků a pracovnic výzkumu a vývoje.\nDokument nejprve představuje základní statistické údaje o zastoupení žen a mužů v českém výzkumu jako podkladová empirická data o trendech vzdělávání a zaměstnanosti žen a mužů ve vědě. V další části dokument shrnuje rámec českých veřejných politik v oblasti rozvoje lidských zdrojů a genderové rovnosti. Následuje přehled hlavních zjištění z výzkumu. Na jejich základě jsou definovány strategické cíle a konkrétní opatření, která jsou členěna dle klíčových aktérů, jimž jsou tato doporučení směřována. V přílohách jsou představena hlavní zjištění z jednotlivých částí výzkumu.\n\n This document is an outcome of the research project Analysis of Barriers to and Support Strategy for Gender Equality in Science and Research implemented in 2017 and 2018 by the Institute of Sociology of the Czech Academy of Sciences as part of the Operational Programme Employment (Reg. No. CZ.03.1.51/0.0/0.0/15_02 8/0003571). \nThe objective of the project was to develop recommendations for action to advance gender equality in research and development for the state administration and other key national players in research policy-making (the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, the Research, Development and Innovation Council, the Czech Science Foundation, the Technology Agency of the CR). Additional measures have been developed for higher education and research institutions and their umbrella organisations (Czech Rectors' Conference, the Czech Academy of Sciences). Moreover, the document aims to serve government bodies responsible for gender equality agendas (the Gender Equality Department of the Government of the CR). The measures have been proposed on the assumption that for their successful implementation it is necessary to ensure synergy between the state administration and research and higher education institutions. Entrepreneurship in the information age: an empirical analysis of the European regions

2018 - English Decelerating productivity in recent years raised questions about technology diffusion in the economy. This study focuses on one particular diffusion channel, entrepreneurship, and inspects the mechanics through which it interacts with digitalization. The composite indicator of digitalization is split into separate components which enables analyzing digitalization’s interplay with entrepreneurship as a dynamic process. Based on the econometric analysis of Eurostat regional data covering the period 2008-2015, I find significant links between digitalization and entrepreneurship. Specifically, digitalization is associated with an increase in the rate at which firms are created and with a decrease in their survival rate after 3 years. The paper demonstrates that the interaction is dynamic in its nature as the effects of initial stages of digitalization reverse or vanish in its later phases. A sectoral analysis shows the persistence of the results across industries.\nMoreover, there is evidence that professional, scientific and technical activities are especially sensitive towards digitalization, experiencing strong, yet short-term shock in the firms’ birth, death, and survival rates. Accounting for geographic variation reveals heterogeneity between regions but not large enough to affect the overall results. Postavení žen v české vědě. Monitorovací zpráva za rok 2016

2018 - Czech Ani v roce 2016 zastoupení žen mezi výzkumníky nevzrostlo, naopak, trend mírného ale stálého poklesu pokračuje. Podíl žen mezi výzkumníky dosáhl hodnoty 26,6 %. Mimo dat o výzkumnících dle oborů a sektoru působení, o studujících a akademických pracovnících na VŠ či zastoupení v rozhodovacích pozicích, zpráva obsahuje také data mapující postavení žen mezi výzkumníky v jednotlivých evropských zemích. Ze srovnání jasný vyplývá, že ČR ve všech sledovaných kritériích patří mezi nejhorší. Even in 2016, the proportion of women among researchers did not increase, on the contrary, the trend of slight but steady decline continues. The proportion of women among researchers reached 26.6%. In addition to data on researchers by field and sector of activity, on students and academics at universities, AND in decision-making positions, the report contains data mapping the position of women among researchers in the EU. The comparison clearly shows that the CZE is among the worst in all the monitored criteria. 2018 - Czech Společná tisková zpráva Sociologického ústavu AV ČR, v.v.i., Otevřené společnosti a NESEHNUTÍ ze dne 5. února 2018.\nZnevýhodnění v odměňování mezi muži a ženami, nedostatečný postup žen na vyšší pozice či překážky při přijímacích pohovorech představují nejzásadnější problémy, které odhalil reprezentativní průzkum Sociologického ústavu AV ČR, v.v.i. Minimálně jednou za svůj život se s těmito překážkami setkalo téměř 60 % žen a 39 % mužů. Dotazy na soukromý a rodinný život jsou pro ženy stále běžnou součástí přijímacích pohovorů do zaměstnání. Nejčastěji se s nimi setkávají ženy, které již mají děti, a ženy ve věkové skupině 30–44 let. Celkem je ale potvrzuje 58 % žen a 24,6 % mužů.
