Cenozoic volcanic series in western part of the Bohemian Massif

2004 - English The western part of the Ohře/Eger Rift is a geodynamically active area in the Alpine foreland. Associated Cenozoic alkaline volcanism, particularly that of Quaternary age, plays an important role in the seismic active region of the W Bohemia and Saxony and is accompanied by intensive manifestations of mantle degassing (CO2, He, N). Three Tertiary to Quaternary alkaline volcanic rock series were recognised there: 1. Early Oligocene to Early Miocene (31-20 Ma) in the Doupovské hory Mts. and western Ohře Riftu. 2. Middle to Late Miocene (16-8 Ma) associated with the Cheb-Domažlice Graben. 3. Pleistocene (0.43-0.26/0.11 Ma) associated with the Ohře Rift and Cheb-Domažlice Graben junction. On the basis of isotopic and geochemical data of the primitive mafic volcanics of all series the source of magmas is a sublithospheric HIMU mantle source. Západní část oháreckého riftu je geodynamically aktivní oblast alpského předpolí. S oblastí spjatý kenozoický alkalický vulkanismus, zejména kvarterního stáří, hraje podstatnou roli v seismicky aktivní oblasti západních Čech a Saska a je doprovázený intenzivními projevy odplyňování pláště (CO2, He, N). Tři tercierní a kvarterní série alkalických vulkanických hornin byly zde odlišeny: 1. Raně oligocenní až raně miocenní (31-20 Ma) v Doupovských horách a západním oháreckém riftu. 2. Středně až pozdně miocenní (16-8 Ma) spjatá s chebsko-domažlickým příkopem. 3. Pleistocenní (0.43-0.26/0.11 Ma) spjatá se spojením oháreckého riftu a chebsko-domažlického příkopu. Na základě isotopických a geochemických dat z primitivních mafických vulkanitů všech sérií za zdroj magmat lze považovat sublitosferický HIMU plášťový zdroj. 2004 - English Čtyřicet čtyři reprezentativních příspěvků o bioerozi v geologickém záznamu i v současných prostředích dokumentuje, že prvními pevnými substráty, které byly v geologické minulosti Země kolonizovány, byly karbonátové hardgroudy. Brzy poté byly osídlovány i větší karbonátové bioklasty. Koncem prvohor se začala v nevelké míře uplacovat strategie osídlování dřevitých substrátů. Mořská bioeroze v litických substrátech se velmi zintenzívnila rozrůznila během druhohor a třetihor. Sebrané příspěvky dokumentují dále zvyšující se zájem o bioerozi v nemořských prostředích a o erozivní struktury působené obratlovci Forty-four international contributions on bioerosion from the fossil record and from modern settings show that the first intensively bioturbated substrates were carbonate hardgrounds, soon followed by carbonate bioclasts. By the end of Paleozoic, wood bioerosion starts to take place; marine bioerosion in lithic substrates have much diversified during the Cretaceous and Cenozoic. The set of extended abstracts also shows increasing interest on mammals as tracemakers, and on bioerosion on non-marine settings.
